best mpg i think i've seen from a 4th gen

honestly i'm not completely sure how i pulled it off...i was amazed...the calculations and what i got were only off by like .3

I am thinking you reset the MPG while you were on the highway? Doing that seems to fudge the numbers.

I really don't think our trucks can pull 26 mpg doing 80 unless you are getting towed!

Well I can tell you there is NO WAY you are getting 27mpg doing 80mph...it just isn't possible. There are a couple ways you can get that mpg and resetting the mpg while on the highway would do this, or like others are saying, going downhill, keeping the truck under 70mph or there is something wrong with your truck that is leaning it out. A normal 4Runner going 80 on flat ground isn't possible. Think about it....You are saying your truck is getting almost 30mpg while doing 80mph...NO WAY!!! That is like 4cyl Camry numbers.

theres always doubters out there...with the whole tank i got 402miles...its possible if you stay at a constant speed and not hitting the gas and then letting off like most people do...it just cracks me up when someone is accusing me of making a thread just to get a reaction from everyone...like i said before im not gonna waste people's time doing something stupid...people are posting all the time what their mpg is and i've seen on here already 26mpg at 75mph, so how farfetched is that? if you don't drive like a maniac then you can get numbers like that...when i had my 09 corolla S, i got 43mpg going to myrtle beach

yall do know the rule to the lcd mpg display is subtract about 2 mpg from what it reads.

also you cant reset it as you begin to coast down a funking mountain.

I am not trying to doubt it but when it quacks like a duck it is a duck. It is far fetched because these other people are not doing 80mph when they post 26mpg and they are not saying the readout in their truck is only off by "only off by like .3" That 5 more miles per hour is a big deal as far as drag, fuel consumption, etc.

Everyone also knows the readout is off by at least 2mpg. How would you have got the only 4Runner out there with an accurate gauge and somehow got the Hybrid version. You are saying it is possible on level ground going 80 and getting an accurate 27mpg and I disagree. So we agree to disagree.
