Best price on BFG AT TA KO... Where???

I have a '94 SR5 4Runner.

I've been running 31x10.5 R15 BFGoodrich All-Terrain TA's since I bought it. I'm now thinking of upgrading to a 16 inch wheel from a 3rd generation 4Runner. I just called the place where I last bought tires to find out what the price difference would be for similar tires but for a 16 inch wheel. They told me the closest BFG AT TA size would be: 285/75 R16. The tires for my 15 inch stock rims are $118 each. The 285/75 R16s are $ 186 each. This is so expensive that I'm considering sticking with the stock wheel/tire combo.

So 2 questions:
1. Does anyone know the cheapest place to get these BFG AT TA tires online or at a chain store?

2. Is there a less expensive tire that is comparible. (I'd be willing to give up a little of the BFG's off-road capability for on-road drivability, but not much. Also I'd like something with a similar aggressive look.)

Okay one more question for curiosity's sake:
3. Why the heck is a tire with less rubber (I assume) so much more expensive?

I've driven on three sets of BFGs and the Nittos are a much better tire for daily driving duties and can handle the trails too. The Nittos really are a much better wet weather tire and that obvious looking at both tread patterns. BFGs suffer resistance to hydroplaning at highway speeds but if you really off road a lot and have another DD the BFGs sidewall durability might be a better choice. Off road the Nittos are very comprable and cost me about $200 less than set of BFGs would have cost.

I off road a bit but my truck is also my daily driver and on road the Nittos have solid grip wet or dry,aren't too noisy,decent ride,look good and everybody and their grandmothers don't have 'em. :

Oh yeah,it's not the cost of the rubber,it's more that odd sizes cost more or less depending on demand.
