Best rock sliders on a budget?

For aestetic purposes mostly. Not looking for clearance or to do any serious off roading. I don't have a lift, nor intend on getting one. I don't like the look of completelty removing the running boards but mine are now an eye sore as they've been ran into far too many times now from other drivers.

I don't/can't weld so bolt on would be preferred. I do know a local welder/fabricator though so If welding is needed I can get it done if it makes financial sense. Any input it appreciated.

Just giving my input here. I don’t know about bolt slider so I’ll tell you about the sliders I had installed.

I bought the All Pro sliders for $310. I had them welded on by a mobile welder for $300. I probably paid “too much” for the welder, but I’m happy with the results. Strong, sturdy, and looks great.

EDIT: Can only be had with kickouts. Tread plates are optional and additional. Oops!

Search around for some 5th Gen NFab bars. I found a set on CL few years ago for like 50 bucks. Your welder friend can make them fit....

I would recommend the kickouts even on a street truck. Makes it super easy to stand and clean the roof, or for rear passengers to step in.

I have the 4xInnovations with Kickouts. They are medium strong, I managed to finally bend one up into the body on a pretty hard drop in a rock garden...

Which tube for the sliders did you go with? They have 3 versions for varying levels of strength.

I can’t speak for [MENTION=80102]shadow247[/MENTION] but I went with the DOM round tube.

Stronger than HREW but weaker than the DOM square tube. Their square tube actually bent the frame rail before the slider!

I figured I’d rather bend a slider than bend the frame.

I've seen that video before. I think it's awesome that they were willing to test their own product like they did. Those last few hits were way harder than most of us would ever experience.

The only bolt-on sliders for the 3rd gen are from Schrockworks - not cheap and long delivery times. They still require drilling to install, since there are no decent bolt locations on the 3rd gen frame for sliders.

If you want budget, find cheap 'universal' sliders of the right length and have a welder install them.

Xo Fab for me. DOM tube came as a kit half welded. I had to cut and weld the horizontal mounts to both the slider and to the frame.

I ended up changing my mind and shortening them. I originally measured when I had spacers on.

Yes! MAD. mutually assured destruction. I had custom ones built I designed on a 97tj I used to own just for that purpose...and stumps/trees of course. A deer hit the drivers door couple of months ago on my 4runner and it was a good lick. Bashed the door in.
Now I'm waiting on Victory4x4 to finish the ones I ordered in May.

Schrockworks is no longer in business, they screwed over a bunch of customers. There is another bolt on out there, don't remember who, but it costs like 750

I'm also regretting not angling them... But, they work really well in the rocks, both sliding against /over and kicking the rig/rear out.

If you play in the rocks at all, have a good strong rear bumper, I use 4XI plate bumper, and add rear hoops to keep your rear quarter panels & taillights minty.

The demise of Shrockworks was handled poorly indeed, but when they were active they had good prices and communication and decent lead times. They also had one of the only bolt-on angled-up rails on the mainstream market. You can hardly tell they are there.
