Best route to run satelitte antenna

I installed XM on my Scion headunit last night and left the antenna in the dash and have zero reception problems.

Do you mean on top of the dash or under the dash?

I left it IN the dash. No issues. Out of sight and no reception issues. :bigok:

Hey MAC, can you tell if you are getting a satellite signal or terrestrial signal? Doesn't XM use ground based repeaters in Metro areas where sat might be blocked by tall buildings and such?

I am just thinking it would suck to start traveling out of the ground based range to find that the sat signal is not good enough through the dash.

I am curious because I want to put XM in my 4runner too.

I have my antenna sitting just behind the rear spoiler on the roof. I ran it through the entire interior without actually completely ripping out panels (literally took at most 30 minutes with two people)! I also created a custom mount without drilling any holes!

I'm not in a metro area, (Salem, OR) so I am definitely getting a signal via satellite.
