Best speculation of a 2023 6th generation I have seen

Why is that LOL-worthy, outside of privacy concerns?
In respect of the source, I don't want to say yes or no, but we all know the nameplate we are primarily here to discuss. If a source also posts online in any capacity, then I typically refrain from reposting their own info. Especially when they also own a 4Runner and might want to post here, only to find what they've told me already showed up publicly without their permission.
Typically production of a new vehicle begins 2 months before it's officially launched, so 24 months is another major clue I know of for 930B SOP. This is the officially the 2nd delay for what is known as both 610B-2 and by Toyota 930B, after first being leaked on February 18, 2020 by me as planned for MY 2023. Production chassis code might be N350.
I had warned you all that it was potentially delayed again based on some prototyping phases being scheduled very later than expected, now it's baked in as much later.
I'd like to see new 4x4 product sooner, but forget about seeing such a vehicle unveiled in 2023. Not unless Toyota feels the pressure and wants an early reveal, like has been done with the Tundra in February 2006 (launched in January 2007). I think I got info on the Tacoma Job 1 as well, which I need to check my notes on.
The 220D vehicle for Lexus out of TMMI, will enter production in July 2023, earlier than my original projection of September 2023. I cannot remember if that means parallel Toyota badged 200D program vehicle will enter production earlier than June 2023. These are to my knowledge GA-K vehicles.

When I lived in Michigan and worked at Ford many people aspired to live in West Bloomfield. They would walk around with their noses in the air and talk about it like it was better than Paris or Madrid or London even though most haven’t been to any of those places. When those snotty and self important types were finally able to over extend themselves enough to buy a place there both husband and wife had to work, they had to drive the same pos cars for years, have paper stick on shades in the house and old or no furniture for the same amount of time. The economy would take a dive, Ford would broom a bunch of white collar employees and boom they would loose the house. Thats funny.

Ive spent a lifetime being financially responsible. There have been many sacrifices I have made. I retired in my 50's from the corporate bullshit and started my own business. I have little sympathy for people who live beyond their means, run up debt and get themselves in trouble.
What made it worse was the West Bloomfielder's I new always behaved like their shit was good to eat. When they would get knocked off their high horses I was like "You had it coming". lol

Carmaker1 always good to get your insight on what's happening behind the scenes for the 4runner.
Is there any chance the delay is specifically related to a powertrain (phev, ev, hev) and the vehicle will be released earlier than 26 months? Just wishful thinking on my part.
I look forward to learning more about the product line. Really hoping for more phevs across the lineup.

Oh the internet can be fun sometimes. Just managed to dig this up. NOTHING at all about a 6th gen 4Runner. Not even the 930B program code.
Now I'm not discounting Carmaker1 by saying there's nothing about the 4Runner. He's been extremely accurate in the past and I don't doubt what he's saying. Hell, he could probably confirm or deny this whole sheet and/or point out inaccuracies based on his own info. It's just more of a curiosity/strange that it's not even mentioned at all when the new Tacoma is, and several other lineup refreshes.
EDIT: Looks like this is only for vehicles being produced in North America. Despite the Team Quality Services link I posted a while ago saying "610L(2)" in Mexico with SOP in Jan 2024, maybe with this new delay info from Carmaker1, production is staying in Japan?

That's a pretty awesome document.
If I remember correctly from what was posted earlier, the 4Runner might be like the NX (and RAV4 before it) where it starts production in Japan and later moves to North America. But, you're right, maybe that changed? Those production dates are way out for some of those, so no reason to omit the 4Runner, even if it starts out in Japan.
Note the bZ5X to be produced in Georgetown next year -- 5 means larger than the RAV4-sized bZ4X, and the X is a crossover. I guess that's the Grand Highlander/TX-sized EV that Toyota showed last December?
With SOP in September 2023, it might actually beat the bZ4X returning to production (being facetious, but Toyota just announced the bZ4X production is suspended for another month -- through August. Getting less likely my bZ4X will beat the reduction in the Federal EV tax credit on Oct 1.)
Maybe Toyota is listening to all the guys that said they'd never buy a non-Japanese model and they've decided to just discontinue it :lmao:

Top 3 being pickups is no surprise in any year (250,000-300,000 units), they outsell everything else by a factor of almost 2x.
However the Grand Cherokee being #5 at 135,000 units is frankly shocking to me, both it, the tacoma (108,000) , and the highlander (118,000) and Rav4 (not reported but usually Toyota's best seller) are outselling the 4-runner (67,000) near 2:1 or more. Even the Jeep Wrangler at 100,000 units is surprising to me, I knew they were popular but not that popular.

One thing I don’t want is pushbutton start, my wife’s Highlander has it and you can’t move the car at all without starting it. I like to be able to turn the key to the accessory position and move the car, turn on the radio. My $.02

My 4Runner has push button start and I definitely have accessory mode. If you push the key once without the brake it goes in to accessory mode, twice without the brake will be "on" without the engine. Try that if you haven't, if you have, I'm not sure why it wouldn't cycle through those.
The thing I don't like is you can't go backwards from engine running to either of those modes. You have to turn completely off and then do the button presses without the brake.

Just had to go back and reread to figure out why it was missing. Carmaker1 said Toyota removed the program code from every 3rd party database, and well, what do you know? The document I posted is a 3rd party database. :doh:
No offense to carmaker1, but I think the intelligent deduction would be that we cannot not assume anything at this time.

I think he was saying, and it holds water, Toyota will redesign and release the taco first since it outsells the 4R and is feeling the competition breathing down it's neck. I would not be surprised if the 4R is revealed in the summer of '24 and arrives as a 2025 MY. It is reaching lengendary status as a LandCruiser JR model so I think Toyota will be able to stretch it out for an extra year in '24. It may still land in a year as a '24 reveal.
Side note: You can do this by putting it in neutral before turning the engine off, then you push the Start button while in neutral (and the engine still running) to turn off the engine but leave the electrical things on (you will notice that the radio doesn't cut off) and then you can place the vehicle in parking without having to cycle the radio off/on. Push the start button one more time while on parking to turn off the electrical accessories.

Had no idea. That was also my biggest complaint about the fob system when you want to continue listening to music but turn the engine off while parked. Thanks for sharing!

Regardless of what MY the 6th gen comes out in (24 or 25,) I wonder how much lead time people will need if they want to assure themselves of a 5th gen before it goes away forever?
When Toyota finally releases definitive evidence that the 5th gen will no longer be available past calendar month X, there may be a mad rush from folks who have been, how's a polite way to describe it, procrastinating?
That last production year may be white knuckle for those who want a 5th gen but have been waiting...
