Is it just me or do these renderings I keep seeing look like a Bronco? -_- Happy to be in my 5th Gen if the model is going to change that much!
Pics or link? Otherwise we have no idea what you're talking about. Is it just me or do these renderings I keep seeing look like a Bronco? -_- Happy to be in my 5th Gen if the model is going to change that much!

No rendering from the mind of any pixel artist ever ends up looking like the final product.
Standby for more pixel artists to make more renderings in order to get the clickbait ad-traffic.
Recently drove a bronco raptor and it was a fun suv. Cons were the transmission hunting for gears and the cabin wind noise reminded of wranglers. Other than that it was a solid ride with the 37" tires and shocks.
At first I was interested in a Bronco as well, then I found out why Ford stands for Found On Road Dead.Ford has done really well with the Bronco giving Jeep the first true Wrangler competition in what feels like a generation at this point.
I've seriously thought about looking at one, but the slightly lower interior cargo volume (versus a 4Runner) and also not wanting to go back to a similar driving experience as my 2012 Wrangler Unlimited Rubicon (which was an absolute bear for longer road trips) has deterred me up to this point...
Still very curious to see where Toyota goes with the next 4Runner though.
New Ford Bronco Derivatives Are Under Development, Says Jim Baumbick - autoevolutionIt won't be an easy job, though, because the second-largest automaker of the Big Three in Detroit has yet to address the measly production output and quality issues that hamper the Bronco's appeal. We also have to remember that Ford allows the US dealership network to charge ridiculous market adjustments, be it a two-door Base with steelies or a big-boy Raptor.

I had hoped they would work out the first year bugs but they are still there after three years.
Autoevolution summarizes it well:

You can look, but all reports of the Bronco say the interior plastics scratch if you even brush anything against them, cheap is the Ford mantra.Something about Ford's vehicles and interior design has just rubbed me the wrong way always. I've had a couple of GM trucks before (2004 Silverado 1500 LT and a 2004 GMC Envoy) and could see myself getting a GM vehicle in the future. Something about Ford's interior design just feels like junk to me. Maybe I need to look at them again, but...
The latest video for the 2024 Tacoma reveals a couple of new colors. Looks similar to cement and quicksand...
Toyota FINALLY gives us a reveal date for the 2024 Tacoma plus NEW images - YouTube
Also - if these are actually real profile photos - the 2nd to last one which is a double cab model has a different rear suspension. The rear lower control arm is missing and it has something else going on back there. If there is going to be a full EV verison and Toyota is going to use an F150 Lightning style approach with rear IRS drive motor - that could be what we're looking at. Or it could just be some other oddity in the image that doesn't mean anything. Why would you leave the lower control arm mounting bracket on the frame rail if you're not using it? My guess is just an editing error of some sort, but it might be something different for some reason.
I'd bet a ton of money it's not an EV. PHEV perhaps, but no way there is going to be a full EV version of the Tacoma ready at this point given how far behind Toyota is as a manufacturer on overall EV development activities...

Before you get too excited - remember that that concept turned into this product:

It really doesn't need to be an either/or between removeable top and not. Many cars have had both options. But also it's exceedingly unlikely IMO that a new model will have a removeable top. I don't think Toyota has sold a removeable top SUV anywhere in the world since Bill Clinton was in office. I don't think there have been any convertible toyota models in any category since the Avalon coupe.
That wasn't the concept that turned into the FJC. It was this 2003 concept.

For better or for worse, they stayed pretty true to the concept.
... But I think there is value in recognizing that the same forces that were at play they are still at play now and Toyota is pretty unlikely to build anything risky or enthusiast driven.
