Best speculation of a 2023 6th generation I have seen

Have you seen something to give you confidence the 6th gen 4Runner starts production in Jan 2025, or are you confusing it with the just posted info about the Mini FJ Cruiser?

You're right. The screenshot I posted is about the FJ Cruiser replacement, not the 4Runner.

I apologize for the confusion regarding the planned volume numbers and production start date.

Yeah, could that be a mistake? For me personally, it is the highway number that matters for a 4R.

Today, I saw the new Land Cruiser and the new Tacoma on a show. Well, very unimpressed with the undercarriage of the Land Cruiser. Nothing wrong with it, just nothing worth north of 50k. And the shocks would have to go right away, yikes, assuming this is what it comes with. It was labeled as a prototype and had a Subaru style plastic under-guard instead of a front skid plate, which, whatever. But it better have good plates with that Subaru clearance (I am sure it will not). Its offroad credentials off the box in terms of angles, clearance, etc are just a joke compared to the Bronco that was sitting about 10 yards away. At some point, reliability is just not enough even for me, the solo wolf.

As for the Tacoma, its rear, from underneath, looked very much like my 4Runner which is generally a good thing (why fix what works so well) but I want the next 4R to have an improved departure angle. Do not ask me why I did not spend more time looking at the front suspension geometry and spacing. That was always my major point of interest in the new Tacoma. I can really use more wheel travel. I guess the rear seat just drained my interest right then and there.

That's only good to put there Jeep drivers you have saved along the way.

I don't need the next 4R to match the Bronco in rocks but I need something more than incremental and marginal improvements to buy a new vehicle.

My 4R is fully owned and has all the mods I need. It is staying home anyway (me, son, both, whatever) and so to add a new one will take, as a start, easy, no-mods needed 35s.

One thing I find very interesting is that with it being listed as a CUV, the header of the document says GA-F. So we would be getting a small body on frame vehicle

There is nothing practical about the EPA and CAFE, there are no exceptions for off-road SUVs, be thankful we can still get ICE models before they are outlawed.

Having more maximum torque than naturally aspirated, and having it available at 1700RPM, instead of 4400RPM like the 4.0L, or 4600RPM, like the Tacoma 3.5L. I like offroading, I like torque. Having way less power loss at altitude. My 4.0L doesn't like 5-digit elevations very much, becomes a regular gutless wonder up there.

For anyone trying to stay naturally aspirated until their dying breath, Nissan's got you covered with the 2024 Frontier on a 2005 chassis with a modern V6 engine slapped in and mated to a possibly questionable transmission. Enjoy!

Definitely the LC250. It was revealed last year and no one has driven it yet. There isn't enough time to tease and reveal the 4Runner and then let youtubers drive it. The Tundra, Tacoma, GX550 and LC250 have all followed a very similar reveal timeline. 10-12 months of teasing, general reveal then nothing for months, then it shows up at more auto shows then reviewers get to drive it, then a month later the embargo is lifted and their videos can be revealed.
No one will see the 4Runner until summer with test drives next January then March it will hit dealers. Fall of 2025 you might see the hybrid and Pro version.

Exhaust on the left like most, if not all, GA-F vehicles. Also can see the Toyota lean is alive and well in the last picture. I wonder if they reveal at the Texas State Fair like they did for the 5th gen.

Don't look for the reveal before June to Sep, then don't expect delivery to dealers before next February. This is the start of the drip-drip water torture tease campaign.

I won't feel like buying until at least the third model year anyway to give them time to get it right and double check, so first delivery timing isn't worry to me. But I do hope they move faster than a September reveal! Maybe May/June like the LC250 and Tacoma did.

I hope they keep the pricing fair to the working class. I was disappointed by the price increases on the new Tacoma, even if the gas savings should make up for it after some amount of years. If it's moving from a thirsty EPA penalty 4.0L V6 on an aging unique platform built in Japan to a Tacoma twin built in Mexico with the new corporate 4cyl on the corporate chassis with the corporate transmission... it would be nice to see prices hold steady or even drop ever so slightly, since those all seem like real manufacturing cost savings for Toyota. Wishful thinking.

6th gen Spotted in Glendale Az

These pictures were taken on Greenway Avenue and 55th Ave., right down the street from me. Toyota has a proving grounds in Wittman about 13 miles away. I used to see the 2007 Tundra Test vehicles and Sequoia Test vehicles all the time back then. Worked in Surprise,Az. New a guy that was part of the Sequoia Cold weather testing in Colorado I always asked him about the up-and-coming stuff, but he never gave too much info which I could understand. So the 4runner is definitely testing in Arizona just like the New Tacoma was testing here also. Not my pics. I will definitely be on the lookout as I now know they're here.
