Discount offered me 40% of what I could sell my Limited tires for on Craigslist. It never hurts to ask them if you are buying tires from them.

For you guys who have already switched out the OEM tires, can you tell us which tires you purchased and how you like the new tires? I am looking at the Michelin LTX MS/2. We travel a gravel road everyday to and from our house and I am looking for a long tread wear tire that is good in gravel and other off road situations. I had the Cooper Discoverer AT/3 on my 97 4Runner and I really liked them. They have a 55K mile tread wear. The Michelins have 70K tread wear. Thanks

I just ordered the LTX MS/2 today, will have it put on Thursday, but I will say that from everything I've read about them, they are a great all-season tire. Rated for 70K Miles. What other offroad situations are you going to be experiencing?
Worthless? I wouldn't go so far as to call it worthless for offroad. Bunch of threads around the net with people that actually have purchased and used these tires off road (Michelin LTX MX/2 Off-Road??? - Expedition Portal, Michelin LTX MS/2 REVIEW - TundraTalk.net - Toyota Tundra Discussion Forum).

People's idea of what off road is, is very subjective. I have ran the LTX M/S before and I will say they are on par with most "all seasons" off road or slightly above average.
I personally wouldn't ever run them on a 4x4 but a 2wd street driven truck I would run them without question.

I pound the pavement with mine, so LTX MS2s for me...
They now have 20k, and look damn near like new. Love these things for a road tire.

My opinion of the tire is based on personal experience, having a set on my previous Tacoma. As I said, they are fantastic on road, will do just fine on gravel roads, but for real off roading, they are worthless.

What is it about these tire companies that don't make true black wall tires. Man! It gives me RED OCD......
I'm either gonna be stuck with these dunflops (honestly,the do look good-but theyre probably noisy) or the khumo sat's....
It's like buying a piece of jewelry and hiding it. And soooo hate to bleche white the letters (more work) when washing my truck. :redbrick:

But. Depending on the angle of how,where your truck is parked or has it's wheels turned.....you can still some letters.....drives me nuts if I had that.
