Has anyone ran these tires with the stock rim. I have icon stage 1 lift and was wondering if they might be to tall to fit the wheel well?

That's a big tire at 34.1" OD. You'll definitely rub the front fender liner and body mount. Can it fit? Yes, if you cut off a substantial portion of the front fender liner and do a BMC.

is that even with the 3/1.25 truxx spacers installed? i also have the spydertraxx wheel spacer.. i think it gives it 1.25 to stick out... what do you think??

i was originally planning on doing 285.55.20, but costco wont install them for me since we have 7.5 wide inch. they wanted an 8 inch rim.. i know it can be done as i saw another member with that same exact set up, just thought if i could go a little higher...

A 34" tire will rub with the lift and spacers. I run a 33" tire and needed to modify the front liner and do a bmc.

You'd have to cut the front fender AND liner. In addition, you'd have to trim away a considerable amount of plastict AND cut the metal body mount to the rear of the wheel.

A lot of work to get an extra inch. When you cut the body mount, you'll have to weld on something to strengthen it back up. If you YouTube search FJ body mount chop, you'll find some people that have done it to our frames on FJ (same frame).

oh wow so definitely not the way to go then....

i guess i gotta stick with 285/55/20 which is 32.2in

the guy at the store told me if my rim was a little wider i could go woth 305/55/20 which will make it at 33.1 inches. Has anybody heard anybody installing those and if there any problems?

btw im going with bfg all terrain

hey everyone, so just pulled the trigger on 285/55/20 bfg all terrain. $1635 out the door price. theyll be here tomorrow... not a copy cat but looks like my truck will be exactly like the post above.. same color truck too lol

Any on-road updates on 285/55/20 stock limited rims? This is the way to go if there's no danger running them. Any updates from those who have had them on?

Thanks.
