BFG All-Terrain T/A KO2 went on sale today

Ordered a set from Tire Rack today. Estimated delivery 11/12/14

Must be getting the KO2 "E" load range (10-Ply sidewall), eh? Or are you a lucky Canadian that already has access to the "C's"? Maybe a few "C"s' tricked down from Canada to Washington?

I'm holding out for the "C" load range LT265/70R17's (BFG# 66255 / March 2015) as I don't need the crazy sidewall strength and extra un-sprung weight of the "E"'s. That's a compromise I'm not willing to make (I'll be purchasing old KO's in "C" over new KO2's in "E").

Summit will let me pre-order the "C's", but they have the incorrect anticipated ship date listed from the "E's" (Summit's website claimed November, but after they called the Michelin distributor, they confirmed March 15 for the "C" 66255's).

Let us know once your delivery date is confirmed and you have them in your grubby hands I wish the KO2 "C"'s (BFG# 66255) were shipping as I just can't wait until March for new rubber, so I'll be snapping up another set of original KO's pretty soon...

I'm holding fast for stock 265 "C"s (BFG# 66255) - They are slated for March '15, but some websites (like Summit) erroneously slapped the "265 E"'s release date of Nov '15 on the same sized "C" load model. Summit will even let you pre-order the BFG# 66255 "C Load", but aren't likely to see them for many months...

I don't want the decreased MPG, increased un-sprung weight and rougher ride from the 265 (or 275) E's, so I'm having to purchase "old model" KO's in C...

Bumping out of curiosity to see if anyone in the Domestic USA has heard about any updates on C load KO2's in stock size (BFG# 66255).

I'm very close to needing replacements, and I'm 99.99% sure I'll have to go with the current model KO's (just like I have now).

Also curious if anyone has the KO2's on their trucks in any size/load range at this point? (Excluding the Canadians that have a different BFG release date olice: ).

Just had a set of the KO2's 275/70/17 "E" load put on my 2011 Trail on Saturday. Replacing a set of KO's that had about 70,000 kms on them. So far much improved ride and sharp looking tire.

The guy I deal with at the tire shop actually went on a course in Calgary where they took the KO2's through their paces over 3 days. Based on what he was told directly from the BFG/Michelin folks, the only 17" KO2 that will be available in 2014 is the 275/70/17 in E load. I had him try and get C load but based on everything he checked, they are simply not making them yet is this load rating.

Based off what Summit passed down (RE: my previous posts) and what your guy also confirmed, it looks like I'm calling off my search for KO2's in C Load, and will be buying an old set of KO's this Friday (BFG# 12665). I simply can't wait til March for the new digs...

Oh well - Only "T Minus 2 years" until I crank out another 60K miles, and it will be time for new tires again. KO2's won't happen for me til 2016...

newbrunny - those look great! Saw these come up a couple of weeks ago online as well, and have been eyeing them ever since. Nice to hear that the ride is improved - now to justify to the mrs. that I need these tires when 4R came with brand new LTX M/S2s (she unfortunately doesn't not understand the difference between road tires and trailing tires)

I was also a bit hesitant to go with the E load rating as well. I dont have enough clicks on the tires yet to say what the impact will be on gas mileage but I really don't think it will be significant. As for noise and ride quality - these new tires are a vast improvement over the original KO's that I had on - even when they were new. I was expecting the tires to be a bit louder but they are really not and the ride is really good. It almost feels like a completely new vehicle to be honest. I will post back any noticeable drop in mileage and what they handle like off road.

As a side note, I know a few Canadian members have posted that the 265/17/70 KO2's were available at Costco. Not saying that they are not there but I asked my sales rep if this would be possible and he said that it was very unlikely as they cannot even order them yet. Costco does have a greater volume but this dealer is a very large volume Michelin/BFG dealer in this region. When he ordered the 275's for me, they were the only set available in this region. They stored them in the sales area (common this time of year as all tire dealers are gearing up for winter) and he said he could have easily sold them 5 or 6 times before I got them mounted on Saturday. He tried ordering more 17's but there is none in inventory in Eastern Canada at this time.

As a side note, I was a bit concerned about rubbing for the front tires. However when they put them on we checked and while there is not much room, there is just enough clearance that this should not be a problem.

The KO2 265's (supposedly both C's and E's) are indeed rumored to be shipping from Canada Costco's. I was told there will be ZERO cross-pollination from Canada Costco's to domestic USA Costco's (I'm sure there is a sizable BFG penalty for this kind of activity!).

It's us fat Americans that won't see the KO2 265 "C's" (BFG# 66255) until March '15 (265 C and E have same anticipated ship date for USA Distribution)

Great Looking Tyre! I was just going to ask you if you were running a stock suspension and running 275's. I would like to go this route but was curious if there would be any rubbing. It's between this or the Cooper Discovery S/T Maxx. I don't mind the "E" load rating as it's not by DD and would eventually put a rack w/RTT and an awning on the other side so would like something more heavy duty plus with the added sidewall a bonus for here in the desert. Would be curious once you have had them on for a bit if any drop in MPG.

To answer your question, bought the 275's for my truck (14 TEP) and had them on for over a week with no rubbing issues, the tires are very quiet for an all terrain, tread pattern looks aggressive without being overly done, as far as mileage goes I haven't had them on for that long, maybe 500 or 600 miles, so it is early to tell.
Ride is firmer than the OEM but not as rough as some people would lead you to believe, cornering is sharp without any wondering in the steering.
As far as availability here in Canada there's only the 275/70/17's E load in size 17's available for now, don't know of anybody buying the 265/70/17's in either the C or E load anywhere including Costco, (prove me wrong), so don't feel too bad.
265's in C or E load will be available in the Spring of '15 as per BFG website

Ya sorry about that, guy at Costco fed me some wrong info. I picked up a BFG brochure at a local tire shop where I ordered my winter tires and it states the C load range TKO2's won't be available till March.

I gave up and purchased a new set of original KO's on Friday. Mmmmmmm - Roadforce Balanced and Computer Ride Matched. Smooth! :cheers:

My alignment was still spot-on from 2-years ago, too! The alignment tech was surprised - no charge...


KO2's can kiss my American ass until about 22-24 months from now when it will be time for a new set of BFG's. By then KO2's will be old-hat :fencing:

I confirmed the model number, the size, and the load range yo make sure they weren't mistaking the 265 for the 275s. I'm tempted to purchase and see if they ship. I dont drive much as I travel for business, but I would like the satifaction my family is riding in new tires for the NY winter than chamce it to get 4 more months out of stock. My guess is they'll just keep delaying until March as per BFG site.

Anyone else get the same info from Summit, that they will be available earlier than BFG says?

If you are talking Canada - very likely yes. If talking domestic US I'd say no.

The Summit rep literally put me on hold as they called Michelin for details from the horse's mouth, and they were told early March (just like the BFG info states).

A few minutes later - When I saw the "Nov 15" anticipated ship date on the Summit web page for the KO2 66255's I wanted - I called Summit back AGAIN, and they specifically said "I'd believe what the Michelin rep just told us on the phone over what our website says".

The salesman even said I COULD go ahead and pre-order them online, but not to expect them until 2015.

Believe me - I would have LOVED to have gotten the KO2' in 265/70R/17/C1, but that just ain't gonna happen until 2015 unless you are sponsored by BFG.

I would have held out until I had metal belts showing and I was hydroplaning in 1mm of water on my old set of KO's if I thought there would have been a chance of a November delivery. I gave up the wait for my safety...

Maybe those of you in a better time situation (with some tread left) will fare better than me and my horrible timing (actually, considering March 2015 is still 4 months away, that's still a LONG time IMO and like 10K miles for me - so not really horrible timing for me unless they actually ship in November or like 2 weeks from now )

Best luck whatever happens - I won't be bitter if you post pics of 66255 KO2's on your T4R tomorrow, much less in March My new KO's are riding smooth as glass (smoother than the 1st set I just replaced!)...

I bit the bullet and purchased the 265/70/17 load C from Summit's site. I spoke to several people there who assured me they should be shipping on time as per the site...do I believe them? NO. But as they told me, I will not be charged until it ships so I figured why the hell not? An open order would allow me a chance to get more of concrete answer later on then just calling as a perspective customer. Plus, if by Nov 24th, I do not have an update, I can always cancel the order and figure something else out. I have 4/32 still left on my original Dunlap but I would love to get a new tire for the NY winter. That and I rather throw down the expense this year instead of next year when I'm getting married.

Upon doing a google search for the part number for the stock KO2, i noticed a bunch of mom/pop tire stores listing the tire 66255, but no information on when the tire will be available. TireRack has made the available KO2 sizes appear in stock on their site. I'll volunteer to be the guinea pig and see if Summit comes through. If not, I'll cancel the order and no biggie. Keep you guys updated if I ever do receive them earlier than Bfg says.

They are going to give me a credit of 40 per tire for the grandtreks to bring me to a total of just under 1100 for 5 installed. Then they gave me a call on 10/31 to let me know that 4 arrived if i wanted them on that day. I will be holding off until next week when the 5th one gets in to get everything done at once!
