Big Bear (or nearby) Feb 23

I'll be visiting some relatives in Big Bear this weekend and will doing some wheeling on Saturday the 23rd.

I posted in the So Cal section, but hadn't generated much interest, so I thought I would post it here too. Since there's a bunch of regular posters here who wheel Big Bear.

I'm open to snow wheeling, lower elevation trails with no snow, or even driving an hour or so from Big Bear for a little trail riding. I'm lookin for recommendations for moderate trails (33's rear locker and sliders) and would be stoked to hook up with someone local who could me show me some fun trails.:driving:

My favs are Gold Mountain and Rattlesnake Canyon but they are a "no go" in the winter.

Can anyone recommend something lower in elevation that might be doable this time of year? I'd really like to take advantage of this trip with a little wheeling.

We made it out to Big Bear and got a little wheelin in. Met up with Broker from T4R, and Rob from Expo, and Zach and John? From hummer4x4offroad.com. Zach new the area so he was our tour guide.

We went up Polique and then to 3N16, up a couple different trails to the John Bull Gate Keeper. We then did Jacoby Creek and finished with Gold Mountain. It was a beautiful California day, sunny, up to a foot of snow in places. Here's a map of where we went.

I'll be heading back to Big Bear this weekend and plan to hit up the trails on Saturday 01/18 with a buddy in a stock FJ Cruiser.

As always, I would love to hook up with someone local who knows the trails. I'm definitely open to heading down the mountain a short distance too.

I don't think there is much snow right now, so should be some sweet trail riding.

I'm visiting relatives down there, so only have this weekend available.
