Bilstein 5100 - .85 Pic`s

Mine actually has slightly MORE rake than stock (unless it settled down since the install), which is why Ducmonsta rightly chimed in. Turns out the 895Es lifted more than I expected. In the end, this turned out fine; I can load up my camping and photography gear and the extended family and the 4Runner still has a good ride stance.

I've been lurking around looking exactly for something like this. Thank you for posting these pictures up. The rig looks so much nicer.

Im happy that I choose .85, I would not fit in my garage with my rack if I went higher. I might also lift the rear .85 with a spacer when I do my rear shocks but in no rush.

I was thinking the perfect combo would be 1.75 upfront with a 1/2 spacer for rear. Does anyone make one? will be easy to add spacer since i'm going to do bilsteins front and back.

Do you think the 895e's are really stiff? How is the ride quality?

Bilsteins @ 1.75, Rear 1" spacers

Just had this done Tuesday...Bilstein's all around, front at 3rd notch (1.75) and 1" rear spacers. I am just about level measuring at the tops of the fenders.

However, with any load at all in the rear, it starts to have reverse rake. I have tried the airlift 1000, but they ruptured driving across country (would have been the perfect solution for me). So now I have ordered OME 895e from Wheeler's for the rear. I'm a little worried they will give me too much lift in the rear, but perhaps they'll settle with time and another trip with a full hitch basket load.

My tires are the stock Bridgestones....tires next!

895e

I am also interested in the ride quality, total lift, and amount of settling with the 895e. Hoping for 1.75" in the rear.

Let me see if I can find the original measurements, immediate post measurements, and I'll get the current measurements to see how things have or haven't changed.

Do remember that on my 4Runner I did get a little more that 1.75in of lift.

where did you find the 1" rear spacer?

Good question! Eric here at SoCal suspensions in San Diego took care of the order (I think he has a local manufacturer that he works with). I did not order online. I just measured for the heck of it: appx 36 1/2 front and 37 1/2 rear to top of fenders (on stock tires). I am sure the rear 1.5 inch spaces that you can find online would look good too...the real question is how these 895e's will turn out!

I think 1" spacer by cornfed and 1.75 or .85 works well.....you can get a custom size spacer from cornfed if you do .85. I think the truck sits level as is if you measure the rocker panel since the fender flares are different in front and back but I wanted a minor lift for my 275's.

I tried to go the 1" cornfed spacer route, but after several emails with no reply I gave up. Ended up going with the single 1.5" drivers rear-side-only spacer from Daystar for like $40, and I think it worked out perfectly. Got rid of the rear driver side lean issue and now I have a bit of rake back since it ended up lifting the left rear about an inch and lifted the right rear about a 1/2 inch due to the rear springs location being close to the center of the truck. I'll post pics in a new thread...

I got an email right away and a follow up for a direct link if I wanted to order a custom spacer. So you did the 1.5 on rear both sides (rear only) gave you 1" right and .5 on left??? That seems odd. Most said they got 1.5 on both sides. I would like to do the daystar but thought it would be too much since I did only .85.

I just did the drivers side only, so 1 single spacer.

Maybe the guy at cornfed just lost both of my emails... but either way, I'm glad I ended up with the 1.5" instead.

I also measured my frame height today...perfectly level at 11.5 inches. This look is exactly what I want, but again, any sort of load and I'm a$$ end low. Back on my search for some stiffer springs and slightly more rake.

Another question...any chance I will get less lift from springs since I have a third row of seats and more static weight in the rear?

I've lifted and lowered tons of tacomas and this is always an issue, ever since the 90s. We have always found that 1" is usually the variance, either up or down.
