.85 setting with 10mm spacers on rear as noted above.

Have you tried the bilsteins at the 1.75 with the ome spacers? Wondering if that would give a little forward rake. Got my bilsteins and ome spacers on the way.

Love this set up, front set at second notch and stock rear with Bilstein B8 5100. Actually lifted the front 1 1/4" on both sides and I do not see any lean. She looks good and I am stoked.

Can you measure from center of the hub to your fender? I just did 5100s and notice no lift after measuring before and after. I see 20.5" on stock size ko2s. I set the fronts to the second notch so it should be .85

That's a sharp looking 4Runner! Can I ask, what size KOs are you running and what crossbars do you have on your roof rack?

Was thinking about doing the same thing ,have a set of 5100’s ready to go but once I hooked my camper with a weight distributing hitch to mine it’s almost level, looks about 1/2” high in front .

That’s a nice setup, but it looks like you’re low in the back a lot more than 1/2”. Don’t use the fenders as the guide for that. Look at the frame. It could be the pic I suppose. If the hub to fender measurement is even front and back, then you have reverse rake. Airbags or helper springs (Timbren or Sumosprings) would help you out when towing even with the WD hitch. You have the hitch dialed in correctly?

I've read every post and I'm close to pulling the trigger on the Bilstein 5100s on all 4 corners. I'm going to set the fronts at 0.85 on stock springs. However, I'm thinking of installing Bilstein 1" Rear Coil Springs (#36-281817) instead of 1" spacers. Will this give me to much forward rake? I like a slight forward rake. I'm not an expert on lifts/leveling suspensions so this is why I'm asking. For the foreseeable future I am going to keep my tires at stock size.
Thanks in advance, Dave

You’ll be adding more lift to the back than the front and will end up with more rake than stock. If you want to lift the rear, setting the fronts at 1.75 and and adding an inch to the rear (either with springs or spacers) is a pretty common setup and maintains some rake.

I finally got my 5100's installed today on all 4 corners. Of course went with the .85 setting. I also had Cornfed 1/2" rear spring spacers installed as I wanted to keep some forward rake. Measuring from the center of each wheel to the wheel arch it raised each corner almost an inch. I measured the frame and the rear is ~3/8" higher. It looks fantastic, rides great, and nosedive is vastly improved.

My 5100 Bilstein's are on the way. I have RCI full skids. Do I need to removed the front skid plate to install the front shocks or can it be done without removing the skid plate?
Thanks in advance,
Dave

Can anyone offer some advice.
Thanks, Dave
Sure, you can but your gonna need an alignment anyway and it makes it easier for them if they don’t have to pull the skid plate, plus I like to do the drop the lower A-Arm method for an easy swap of the coils,I’d install it after the alignment so it’s easy for the guys to adjust the cam bolts and you don’t have somebody having to deal with stripping the skid plate bolts .

I found that dropping the lower control arm and loosening the cam bolts folds the lower Arm out of the way and it’s a straight shot to get coil/shock in and out and you don’t have to mess with the sway bar or risk tearing up a brake line or wheel sensor .YMMV

Your welcome

Had the Bilstein 5100s installed on all four corners yesterday. Fronts set at 0.85". Love the way it rides. So much better than stock. Body roll and nose dive gone. As one poster said, this is how it should have come from the factory. Dave

After installing the front 5100’s I have lights on my dash. abs, brake, 4wd (green flashing), slip assist (driving on level street but downshifts as if I’m downhill), and the steering wheel lights on but turns off when out of park.

Anyone know why this is happening?! And I did undo the abs sensor before installing the shocks and double checked their connection after.

Thanks!

any problems with radar cruise control

I have a 2021 TRD Offroad. I have the 5100 shocks on the workbench. I am reading that the .85 lift is not enough to level it, so I am considering the 1.75 setting. I am worried about the radar cruise control and pedesterian avoidance camera. Any comments?

Yes, I just ordered all 4 from shock warehouse a few minutes ago and was wondering same. My 2015 TE I went 1.75 and 1” cornfed spacer in rear and 275/70/17 It was a perfect combination. But it didn’t have all the driver assist stuff my new 22 TRD OR has. So wondering if it will throw off its calibration. Just had it re-calibrated with a windshield replacement last month. I don’t think I’d be happy with .85 and stock wheel size.

For anyone that likes factory rake (or hate reverse rake when loaded)

This is my 4Runner,

First picture is stock.

Second one is Bilstein 5100 in all four corners with only the front leveled up to 0.85”.

Third picture is 0.85 in front and 1” Bilstein springs in the rear.

In all pictures: TRD OR stock wheels and BFG KO2 265/70R17 tires, no spacers.

I’ll need to change tires soon and I’m considering 275/70R17, do any of you guys recommend this size of tires for my setup or is there anything I should consider? Thank you

The last one looks perfect for me. I daily drive mine all over for my business so I don't want a huge lift. I was looking at the 6112/5100 or 5160 with 1.6-1.75" in front at around 2" in the rear but I want to use 265 ATs and am worried it'll look goofy. Yours looks perfect.
