Bilstein 5100, Spydertrax, and cornfed spacers

looks great!
i just installed 4 bilsteins at 1.75" with a 1" cornfed rear spacer. have the spidertrax 1.25" but have yet to install them (this weekend).
posting a (crappy quality...) before and after profile and front, also for use as comparison between the OPs 2.5"/1.5" and my 1.75"/1"

gains after alignment (measured on full tank) = 1.75" front and 1.25" rear, 0.25" lower front and back driver side

Edit: added an after front-pic with the spidertrax installed, so now in order of stock vs bilsteins vs bilsteins/spidertrax

These posts are greatness. I too am pondering which route I want to go with this setup, and these pics are very helpful. I have definitely decided to do 5100s at all four corners now instead of just the front. But I'm leaving stock rims and tires for the time being. I just can't decide if I want to do no spacer in the rear with 1.75 up front... Or if I want to do a small rear spacer with with 1.75 up front and keep a little rake. My '14 TEP is really squatty as stock setup up front (I measured some quick #s yesterday and there's about a 3 inch diff front to back on both sides). But I'm also going to add a RCI skid up front too not long after the lift (just aluminum)... So that'll add a few pounds to the front as well and prob tow her down a quarter or 8th of an inch.

....just can't make up my damn mind!!! Oh well, still have a few weeks before I'm doing anything anyhow.

i started w/ 2.5" difference in F/R fender height and had a pretty noticeable rev rake to the frame w just 1.75" up front. fenders looked even tho
i'll also note that my pic is on a slanted driveway, which is making it look slightly askew

the AL RCI front skid is 18lb, not gonna effect anything, i think all their skids combined in AL (including gas tank) is only about 120lb

either way you go up front (2.5" or 1.75") i would add a rear spacer, but that's just my opinion

Yesterday I just did the 5100's at 1.75" and rear cornfed 1.00" spacers (Drivers side is slightly thicker to compensate for driver side lean). Great results and drives great. Took about 4hrs total in my garage doing it alone with floor jack and jack stands only. I am a trained mechanic for what it's worth. I used the "no spring compressor method" on the front struts that you can find on youtube and it worked slick, no issues whatsoever and saved a ton of time vs. spring compressors. If trying this, remember to remove/disconnect front swaybar and rear brake lines from the rear axle to allow for movement. Also, get an alignment right away. The alignment will be way off even if you didn't move the alignment cams during install.

Hehe my hubby did you lift as well now too.
That was Ryan Sivley and Robert Griffin doing the install from Heart of Texas Off Road.

Now the important question when we wheeling that beast?

just a comment on the rear install: while the brake fluid lines were about as taught as i would have wanted to push them, we were able to manipulate the axle and get the 1" cornfed in without disconnecting them. 2 ppl made this easier to monitor. we did have disconnect the bracket that holds what i believe is the E-Brake line (toward the passenger side). other than that just had to disconnects shocks and sway bar links.

Anyone happen to have just 5100's installed at .85 setting (2nd to bottom notch)? Trying to see if with just that height, I would be able to fix 18x9 +18 wrapped in 275/60R18's with no issues. Don't feel like touching the rears and basically enough lift/space to fit the new wheel/tire combo..thx!

this guy did w/ 275/70/17 (almost exact same specs w no issues). it looks like he ran that tire even before the bilsteins

read the sticky on alternate search method and you'll be able find lots of examples and various setups.

A question on wheel spacers. With other offroad vehicles I have owned, wheel spacers were generally not recommend due to the added stress they can place on front end components.

Here is seems folks support their use. Can any help me understand the difference? Thanks!

They add the same amount of stress as aftermarket wheels with a similar offset...

Some people love them, some people think they are the devil. lol
