Bilstein 60mm BTS System

Whats interesting is multiple sites have them listed for 2011-2013.. So they wont work on a 2010? It's the same thing!!! At least to my knowledge, and what about 2014? That's not much different.

Now for the stupid questions, are these only for the front?

Bilstein will not have pricing till the end of the year. That pricing you see on the sites are incorrect.

It will be a 0-2.5" lift

will be replaced by the Bilstein 6112 IMHO

I spoke to a technical representative at Bilstein USA today and he mentioned that the part is in the final stages of development and should be ready by SEMA. :thumb:

Confirmed yesterday, should be ready for SEMA and at latest ready for customers by end of the year.

The 60mm bodies are nice, but what valving is going in these? What is the advantage over the 5100, aside from continuous adjustment from 0-2.25" (opposed to preset perch intervals) and slightly improved cooling characteristics?
Sorry, but these just seem like a true coilover for mall crawlers.

The appeal to me is an adjustable coil over with spring @ >$400 a pair. That way I have more money to spend at the mall.

I am curious to know the spring characteristics - surely they are valved to work well with the spring but curious how this spring changes from stock.

I was told last year at SEMA that these (just like what is on the TRDP) will have a softer spring rate but more aggressive valving in the shock itself. Supposedly, designed for flying down a trail but good everywhere else too. None of the reps would comment on how a winch and aftermarket bumper would affect the BTS though. At least they are adjustable though.

I spoke with Bilstein yesterday and info here was confirmed and I was given some part #'s and "MSRP" pricing.

I did a little more digging...these will apparently have digressive valving and will come paired with Eibach springs....I may just eat my words after all....

They worked with Toyota TRD while developing their coilovers & shocks and valving and basically will be doing the same but in Bilstein version also with Eibach springs. (Lifetime Warranty?)
This would definately be more appealing to me if they come with a Bilstein Lifetime Warrenty, because if II purchase a TRD Suspension from toyota (when they are made avail) & installed by Toyota, they are only warrantied (from what I was told by Toyota) for one year becasue they are considered an accessory because they didn't come from the factory with that setup!
Doesn't seem righ, I know, but I called the 1-800 # and also spoke with the Service Mngr at the local dealership.
Of course I voiced my displeasure on that one...... >>> "Then why would I buy toyota suspension upgrade?", I asked!

So 5100's for the rear? Or will the make a 60 for the rear?

5100 or 5160 Shocks with remote Reservoirs that are currently available.

OK boys and girls............ I just spoke with Bilstein again today to get some clarification on the BTS and the 6112 systems, thinking the BTS was being replaced with the 6112 kit.

I was told both of these systems are "supposed" to become available to us for our T4R's.

BTS with the spanner adustments and the 6112 with the seat keeper rings like the 5100's

Now that would be interesting to have both available to choose from!
I guess we'll have to wait and see as you know how some companies change their minds.


Told to keep checking after SEMA to see if there any updates!

Interested to see about getting the TRD Pro shocks / springs on my Trail Premium... although I really dont want to lose the comfort aspect for daily driving.

I have the 5125's on my Pathfinder and they are quite stiff although that's usually when its unladen.

During my searches for "4Runner Bilstein BTS" I came across this page:

The Video in the earlier post stated the 6112 will be available in Jan 2015. I would not believe anything else.

I actually like the fact they are 60mm, more robust for rock crawling. The 6112's look to be the same as the TRD Pro, but have black springs.

Hmmmm... So the choice is TRD Pro with a 1 year warranty now from the TRDshop.com (Mango22 bought a set) or the 6112's in January with a Lifetime warranty. I like them red springs... I will probably wait until January to see what Bilstein offers.

The BTS Kit will not happen.
The 6112 Kit will happen.

Wow that kind of sucks as the BTS's look pretty sweet! So basically the 6112 kit has the same spring seat step adjustments as the 5100 adjustables ,and not ideal to adjust,with a bigger shock 60mm body and included spring .

Maybe they didn't want to step on Toytec's toes which has the Boss adjustables using Bilteins's threaded body shocks. The Boss Coilovers look like they have bigger shocks then their Ultimate kit,which have the 46mm 5100's, but not sure if they are the 60mm's.

Yes, that's what I was leaning towards...the BTS!

Spoke with Toytec today about a 60mm adjustable sleeve & nut and they don't make any.
The stuff they are making is for the 46mm bodies.

Toytec said these 60mm systems are so new, they haven't done anything with them to his knowledge....
Waiting on a return call from them to see if there will be any new info coming forth about a 60mm setup!
