So I'm a bit confused. I just got my kit from the dealership today, and plan to do a 2" spacer lift (gotta ball on a budget for now). Is there anything that changes as far as getting about 2" of lift on these, ie: do I need to order shorter spacers for the front instead of a 2" kit?

There will be no difference for spacers. The same spacer would have the same effect with this kit, the TRD Pro kit, or any other kit that is a direct bolt-on to our trucks.

I'll caution you, when you buy a 2" spacer lift kit, all of the kits I've seen out there will give you 2" front/ 1" rear. If you install that combined with the the FJ Trail Teams suspension, you're gonna end up with a 3" front/ 1" rear lift. You'll probably want to mix and match parts. Something like the Daystar 1.5" rear spacer combined with the Toytec 1/2" thick front spacer.

Just an FYI. I ordered my kit through my dealer (Airport Toyota) in Alcoa, TN and got it the next day for $573+tax. No VIN needed.

This kit DOES lift the front end 1". You may notice a *minor* rear lift if your current shocks are pretty well traveled.

Installed my fronts today using the no spring compressor method. Seems like there is a lot of space at the top of the shock. Anyone else experience this? Top pic is driver bottom is passenger, much more space on driver side.

Also, I added the Toytec 1” spacer and seems like I’m hitting my sway bar. I’ll prob order the relocation mounts, but wanted to see if anyone else has this issue too?

My buddy ordered it for his FJ, I assumed the TRD kit would be the just like the bilstein 6112/5160 combo, I guess I was wrong. I love my current set up, it’s performed beyond expectations. Just ordered some Wheeler’s super bumps. Should offer a little more cushion and bottoming out protection when speeding through the desert next month. For the price you can’t beat them, maybe that’s why they are out of stock currently.

Ah gotcha. Should be pretty much the same thing I thought. Front or rear bumpstops? Or both? And spacers to stop the axle uptravel sooner b/c your bigger tires?

Did you install the bottom retainer washers and cushions on the shock piston? ( circled in diagram) They keep the piston from pushing too far into the top hat.

I will double check this morning. Those parts come off the stock assemble of new ones came with the new shocks?

Got it. Just went and looked and that’s def the issue. Driver side we missed that washer. Talk about a PITA to fix now for such a small part.

So that explains my issue on the driver side. The passenger side this I still have a ton of space from the top hat to the nut. Has anyone else experienced this?
