Bilstein TRD Pro suspension kit on sale PTR13-35140

Yeah on one of their images they have the rubber isolator attached to the bottom of the top hat. The wheelers/daystar isolator replaces that.

Here's the alignment sheet. They were able to get everything to spec except the SAI. It's just slightly out of spec and the guy that did the alignment didn't think I should worry about it but that new UCAs would probably help.

I don't know much about alignments, but after reading some stuff on the forum it sounds like SAI isn't adjustable and that sometimes it's out of spec when there's a bent or damaged part. Can anyone chime in as to whether UCAs would help this or if I damaged something during instal?

Your T4R should drive just fine with these specs. Doubtful that SAI is off because something was bent on install (unless you happen to be a 500lb gorilla ).

Thanks, I mean the circlips that are holding the perches. There are at different heights left to right (apparently to account for extra driver side weight?)

I'm curious in this is still the case on the 4R or if they should be set to the same height left and right.

Jon

If you're 4Runner has KDSS put them both on the top perch for 1" lift, or bottom if you only want 0.5" lift. If not, leave them at different heights how they currently are. KDSS 4Runners don't need to compensate for lean using different spring perch heights.

I received my kit today, but the box looked like it went through a tornado.

I actually had a piece of the shocks sticking out. I don't know if it is actually damaged. The thread doesn't seem like it's damaged. But I"m not sure if I should attempt to have this installed?

What do you guys think?

Mine came the same way. Nothing looked damaged so I didn't bother to file a claim or do a return. I have not installed but plan to have a shop (Southern Off Road Specialists) do the install next week. Thought about doing this myself but can't get up the courage to tackle it. I'll let you know if I have any problems.

Just finished and this is the first mod on my 2018 SR5. Thanks for a great 4Runner community.

I’ve searched this thread for about 20 minutes now and haven’t found an answer.... I know driver side is upper perch and passenger is lower (non KDSS).

The shocks are marked with “LF” and “RF”.....is LF the driver side? So they’re labeled as your sitting in the vehicle?

Thanks!

yes.

Need some assistance. I have all the hardware to assemble the front shocks and was planning to do that prior to my install next week just to have it done already. I picked up compressor similar to these: https://www.harborfreight.com/autom...herson-strut-spring-compressor-set-63262.html but found the hooks stuck too far in to the coil for the shock body to be inserted. Tried clamping just the top 3 coils above the shock body, but didn’t seem like I’d get enough compression to assemble it.

Anyone gone this route and not the method during install? Should I just keep cranking on the top 3 wraps? Thanks.

Always as the operator of the vehicle, airplane, slot machine, TV, stereo, sink. Not sure about toilet.

Use a jack - you REALLY do not need a compressor.

agreed. it is so easy with a jack.

Megalodon - you can remove your current assembled shock and spring combo as a complete unit and then bolt the new hat into the mount and then use the jack to push the shock shaft back up and in. I have done a lot of suspension swaps over the years and this was by the easiest to do.
