Bilstein TRD Pro suspension kit on sale PTR13-35140

I just ordered the PTR13-35140 from ToyotaPartsDeals for $607 shipped.

I was going to do the 5100s and Moog FJ coils but this seems like a MUCH better kit; I'm very excited and can't wait to get the kit! Will probably be waiting a little while to install but will update when I get the kit with impressions, etc.

Hey. Yes I received my kit. Pretty stoked. The box came in damaged, I inspected everything and it was good. I did mention it to the Toyota parts department and they refunded my shipping costs. But I ended up getting the kit for 487 total.
I will be installing the kit very soon.

Did the kit come with top hats?

Oh ok. i ordered my 4 days ago still waiting. Shoul i get fj or 4runner kyb top hats?

Did the kit come with top hats?

They do not. Amazon has them for about 21 bucks each or some parts stores local have them for little more expensive. They are KYB sm5640. Other than that, the Trd Pro kit is complete and for the price, even if u have to spend a little more at different places that still have them, it’s worth it.

Currently I’m gonna have to ditch the Oem Trd coils it came with (3”x13” 550# rate ) for possibly set of maybe 3”x14” 600 or 650# coils so I can get more of a coil spring lift without using a preload spring perch spacer and accommodate a steel plate bumper and possibly a winch too. Once I get the coil, I’m done and can install the kit.

Sounds like a good plan! What are you running for rear springs? I'm working on picking up some 5th gen 4Runner rear coils, curious what you're thinking for the rear.

I figure the 5th gen should be stiffer (5th gens weigh ~500lb more!) and read they give about 1" of lift.

I’m running Icon 2” rear lift springs. Using the 5th gen seems good too. Never thought of that.
Right now just hoping I can get a lift spring with higher rate to work on the Trd coilover.

Let us know what you end up going with. I plan on doing a bumper and skids so I'm sure I'll need to beef up the springs at some point.

Keep this in mind, Dobinsons said they are working on 2” lift springs. Doing testing. May be available in 4mths. Or possibly the Eibach 14” x 3” 650lb

Bet those would work out pretty good. They also make a 700lb rate. Not sure if that’s good or too much. Maybe someone can chime in.

Edit: read on this thread that people recommended using the king or Eibach as I said. 3” x 14” 650lb. Kings were little cheaper. I’d go with those. May be what I’m looking for for added weight.

Update: Spent some time researching current setups and spoke to the guys over at Wheeler.

Here's where I landed. Next aprox 2" lift.
Front:
-6112 front struts both set to top notch: Should provide me with aprox 1.75" of lift
-3/8" spacer on the driver side
-1/4" spacer on passenger side

Rears:
-5160 shocks
-Wheeler T12: Should net approximately 1.5" of lift

They were $599 plus shipping on ebay. I called the local dealer and they had none, but said 300 kits were en-route to their supplier. I ordered and paid $549 plus tax. Said it should be in in a few days. They did not ask for the vin.

Mine is here today an for the weekend, my 4runner is my only transportation. So, it will be getting done or I'm stuck

I will be starting with the following setting;
Front 6112, TRD Pro springs, drivers side on top notch, passenger on lower perch. 1/2" drivers plate, 3/8" passenger plate.

I'm taking measurements before from ground to fender and I will compare realizing this has to settle.

I'm going for the height I obtained with FJ 4x4 spring on 5100 @ 1.75 perch. Figure I gain 1" of that height back with Pro springs being slightly taller, then making up 3/4" roughly. Should work out pretty close. I'll post what happens late tonight, depending on how smooth this goes.

I have pairs of 1/4", 3/8" and 1/2" spacers. So I can do any combination of up to 1" top plate spacer per side. Got everything plus longer stud's from Wheelers.

Getting the final pieces together before installing.

Setup:
-Rear 5160 paired with Dobinson C59-505 for 1.5 inch lift
-Front 6112 Driver side set at top perch, 1/4 inch spacer
-Front 6112 Passenger side set at bottom perch, 1/4 inch spacer

Will still have a bit of rake, but will be near level.

Still on the fence about the spacers. My understanding is they can damage suspension struts, but the lift is minimal and I spend the majority of my time on paved roads.
