Bimrunner Build Thread & Pics

you could potentially have made a smarter choice than i have by going with those 305s. the 35s are not 'just a little bit bigger' than the 285x75. bimrunner

Yeah. I really wanted 35s but was just not ready to hack up my fenders and push wheels out etc. it's not impossible but I think you need to run the TC front LT kit to widen it out and modify the fenders. It's a much larger tire. The 305 seems much larger than the 285/75 km2s. Not a huge difference from the 285/75 Toyo but width is noticeable at full lock.

regardless of how bad i may have just ****ed up, they're going on tomorrow at 1PM - and promptly coming back to my house to be removed and the clearancing begin.

bimrunner FactoryRide as you can see:

Yeah those are a LITTLE bigger ;)... Good thing you've already committed..

I'm currently looking at 305s now. Thinking about chickening out haha. Maybe this'll give me an excuse to go to LT. Or to atleast think about it a little more. I want someone to get some glass fenders designed and made before I go that route.

honestly from what i can see its not going to be the fenders that are the issue outside of up-travel. its going to be the fire wall/fender wall

as it is right now with my 285/75s and spidertrax spacers, i get a very light touch at 95% turn. nothing major but if you listen close when you're backing up or hit it just right on compression you can hear it smack the metal.

im not going to be able to get out of the parking lot tomorrow without these touching somewhere. significant clearancing of the firewall/fender wall will be in order to aleviate it.

LT is the very top thing on my list, but thats $5000 with shipping juts for the front end with shafts and coil overs. for me to be able to do that I'm going to need to take out a loan, but i want it bad enough that i might

Marshal,

You are either an inspiration to us or just a bad influence, not sure which. Those tires are badass, can't wait to see them on your rig!

:D! Put your name down and we can all get some fenders and run 35s like marshal!

I agree that the fender is the problem with the 35s. I am sure I could have fit them but without fiberglass fenders, I didn't want to do the do-it-myself cutting. Maybe after I see what you do, I'll be a convert and shed many tears over my new 305s.

joneseyyy has me eying this again... http://www.metaltech4x4.com/p-231-total-chaos-fj-cruiser4runner-35-long-travel-kit.aspx and these http://www.metaltech4x4.com/p-219-t...fj-cruiser-35-long-travel-4wd-4340-axles.aspx... I have the CO already so I already planned to eventually go there if I didn't SAS and with the fenders, this might be my ticket.

joneseyyy has me eying this again... Total Chaos FJ Cruiser/4Runner 3.5" Long Travel IFS Suspension Kit and these Total Chaos 3.5" Extended 4340 Axle Shafts for the 3.5" Long Travel Suspension Kit... I have the CO already so I already planned to eventually go there if I didn't SAS and with the fenders, this might be my ticket.

Unfortunately, your coilovers won't work with the application. The coilovers needed for LT are 10" stroke length, and valved way differently with the additonal leverage

Which is actually what I have... I got the LT CO from MetalTech with this in mind if my SAS idea didn't work out. They had Icon build them to the same specs as the Radflos they had on their orange 4runner that had the TC LT kit on the front. That is partly how they ran the 35s. They did eat a few fenders they said.

Here is what I have up front: http://www.metaltech4x4.com/p-789-i...ervoir-coilovers-fj-cruiser4runnertacoma.aspx

Does anyone know if 4x4labs will be making a 14-15`version of their front bumper?

The reason I ask is ive heard that they will ship the bumper in pieces to reduce shipping hassle. Which is awesome because Id need it to be shipped in the smallest boxes possible (possibly multiple boxes) due to APO parcel size constraints.

It would be awesome if they shipped the sliders the same way.

Living overseas is a huge pain when you have a parts addiction... lol
