I've had mine around 4 months, and have washed it once a week, and waxed it every other week, since the day I got it.

I can't wash my 4Runner; because, we are in a drought and are under what restrictions. So I have to take it to the car wash unfortunately.

If that ever happens in my area, I'm going to do the same thing as when it rains. I just wash my car inside my 2 car garage. I have a faucet in there, and it slopes down so all the water drains out the front.

I wish I could do that, but unfortunately I have to much in my garage like bikes, wood cabinets, and other stuff, that it just wouldn't be possible.

I have found the best method is the
the Maguires two step process>> They recommend 4 step, but the first two should be routine"!!!

1st the polish goes on, and off just like the wax. next the actual wax ..LET IT HAZE.... BEFORE REMOVING...
Its very time consuming, and i do it by hand. I do have a buffer but i dont like the way it works.
Theres nothing better than a good old fashioned hand job!@@@@ wait im mean. Oh Fu*k it you know!!!!! what i mean...

Seriously if you have time and you want to do it right. Prepare your paint for waxing with the Polish first. This makes your ride look smooth deep and glossy...

It is almost impossible to eliminate all swirl or spider web swirls on a car. Use those halogen work lights when you wax and you can see them more clearly. I just washed my Ninja Black 4runner this past weekend using the 2 bucket method. I fell in love all over again.

Grand Cherokee (owned for less than 6 months, getting sold to buy a t4r) - Menzerna FP with Klasse AIO/SG all year. Klasse is VERY durable and does not need to be reapplied that often.

I also used Klasse AIO with SG on my new 4Runner - will be very interested to see how it holds up. Did you put more than 1 coat of the Glaze Sealant on the Cherokee?

BTW, I love one of the tag lines I've seen on Autopia

As for cleaning and keeping the scratches and swirls to a minimum...

I use the Klasse twins about every 6 months. In between I use the 2 bucket method to wash followed by microfiber drying and polishing clothes. To finish I use Eagle One Was-AS-U-Dry.

Last I checked, Black was still a color and not a race...... and I was not the one making comments about never seeing a "Black" person in a 4Runner. I was simply trying to make light of the fact that others were making comments like that.

I would also like to add that I would never judge anyone by the color of their 4Runner :bigok:

IMO, comments or jokes on a forum do not demean anyone who doesn't WANT to be demeaned by them.

Growing up in Los Angeles I've heard plenty of jokes which could be considered "racist" or "demeaning" and that wasn't even close. I think some people check their sense of humor at the door and look to be offended by things. It was never my intention to weed out those people or "demean" anyone.

I just took the setup and ran with it...... maybe this Sunday people will chill out and get over it already. And that's all I have to say about that

Mine Is Black ...I go Off roading with it and Dont give a Crap about scratches Etc. I try not to pin stripe but if it happens it happens . !!!!!!!!!!!!!
