Here's my first oil analysis. Since I own a V6, I'm naturally concerned about the head gasket issue so I stressed the coolant in the oil issue. Here's what they said. Anyone have any input regarding the rest?

why is the magnesium so high?

also, silicon is a bit high...generally that's dirt. what air filter are you using?

[MENTION=84120]nevada[/MENTION] I did some searching and found that detergents can cause the magnesium levels to spike. I seafoamed the fuel and oil right before the last change. I'm sure that's a result of residual. As far as the filter, previous owner put in some sort of "high flow" in the stock air box. I have been planning on returning to a stock filter in the near future.

good to know.

I expect with an OE filter in there, the silicon levels will go down. that's a good thing.
