Blizzard Pearl vs. Black

They're both great colors - it's simply how much work you're willing to go to, to keep it looking good.

I owned 2 black SAABs, and then a light gold PF, then a silver PF, and now the BP 4R. I like to keep my vehicle looking nice, and the amount of work to do so on the last 3 vs the black ones is at least half.

And water spots!!! You gotta wipe that black down good - not so much the BP. I go to the hand spray wash a lot, and sometimes I chamois it, sometimes I don't. BP is much more forgiving.

I've never owned "white" before, and I still wouldn't own white-white, but I really like this. Right now I'm running black steelies + Blizzaks, and I like the look.

I realized I've never owned a white car, and the pearlescent paint does look pretty good. Also it seems that there are more black T4R's around here than any other color. Also would you guys know if will be ok (no lift/trimming) if I plan on running a 18X9 rim on a 265/65 tire? Could I fit a little bigger tire, without rubbing issues?

Don't limit yourself to tracking something down locally. I discovered that Gulf States Toyota orders very few 4wd, and they had no BP LE 4wd w/ nav and 3rd row. I ordered one through a Kansas City dealer and had it shipped to Houston. Shipping was $500. Expensive, yes, but I got EXACTLY what I wanted.

Did this tonight......went to the wand sprayer car wash, sprayed it down, used a microfiber cloth to get the big water drops off and you can't see a single spot on the paint (windows are a different story, but that's with any car).

BP looks good clean, and hides dirt. As it's been said at least 1/2 dozen times..........if you don't mind washing/drying you car a LOT, go BLACK, if you're not a dedicated car washer, BP is the way to go.

If you go BP.........don't settle for the tan interior as I did. The black interior on the BP looks INCREDIBLE and I wish I would have waited for one. HTH again.

Funny! I wanted tan interior, and couldn't get it, so I "settled" for black.

In retrospect, you're right, it does look "right" in black.
 
In Canada BP is only available on the Ltd with just the sand beige interior and that goes for $48k msrp before 1600 freight and 13% sales taxes. If I could get a BP in an SR5 upgrade package I would jump at it - love them in that colour.
 
I have the black on black Limited, and I like it. Black exterior is hard to keep clean, but honestly it's a truck, so I'm not as fanatical about it as I used to be with sports cars.
 
I am obviously going to say black, however I have not seen anyone ask the following:

Which color do you think gets noticed more on the road or in a parking lot? If getting looks is your thing, then black is the way to go.

I could be wrong and everyone's taste is different, however white tends to blend in with all the other commercial vans/trucks on the road, and black will definitely get a longer look than white for me.

Just my opinion ...

PS: I just wish that black was as easy to keep clean as white - my 4R is always dirty - especially this time of the year ...
 
Yesterday, I was a stoplight... coincidentally, there was a red SR5 in the inside lane, our Limited BP in the center and a black SR5 in the outside lane. Side by side, I think we made a great choice with the BP. Then again, I might be biased.
 
After owning one black vehicle, NEVER again. It is the best looking color but makes you a slave to keeping it up!

Black = messy

I've owned black and white cars. The black does look sleek and classy as well. 2 problems though:
1. Has to ALWAYS be impecably (if that's a word) clean, or it will look dirty.
2. When washed/cleaned, you will permanently engrave circular shallow scratches that show way more on a black paint.

About the black leather seats:
I've owned a Tundra with black leather seats. Toyota leather is not the best, especially when compared to Jeep leather or Range Rover leather. Toyota leather is kind of cheap.
After a few years, any leather will dry-up. When this happens, the leather begins to break. The creases and breaks show WAY more on black leather, especially on cheap Toyota leather. The creases will be white, more visible on black leather, than beige leather.

I had the same problem. Choosing the color proved to be the most difficult decision seeing how they look great in every color.
 
I have owned and still own many white cars. When I bought my 11 4Runner I wanted a different color. But no matter what I wanted black cloth interior.

First choice was Silver ended up with Blizzard Pearl. Oh well!!!
 
My vote goes to the Blizzard Pearl. I like it better than a plain white, very nice color.
There is nothing wrong with a black, but it has to be taken care of almost on a daily basis. If I had more resources and could afford Porsche Cayenne it would be black.
I am very happy with my Magnetic Gray so far, but we live in America, you never know....:guitar3:LOL

Cannot decide between BP and Black (would get black leather interior with either color). Went to test drive the SR5 and to see the colors in person, but I think seeing the colors in person made the decision even tougher? So would like to hear from some you T4R veterans that currently own Black or Blizzard Pearl. Let me know your thoughts/opinions.

*side note: I'll probably be running black 18's, either Rhino's or Ultra Gauntlets.

Liking the BP more.......I loved the black, but in the south with the heat, black on black is just too hot. Plus my 93 Miata LE is black, so I get my washing "jones" cured with that car!
