Are they still not putting it through warranty. An approved part sold through toyota, should not void the warranty, even if it was put on hold. You could have bought the sc two years ago, and put it on yourself last week without ever being told it was on hold.

Well after signing a work order to proceed with the repair, since Toyota Canada doesn't know what to do. It seems that they have DENIED my warranty claim.
So this will be my last post about this, since my Lawyer is now working on it.
Toyota Canada claims:
Since the charger was put on Hold in 2004, and you have installed it in 2005, there was NO warranty, since TRD discontinued the producted due to problems.
I'm waiting on TRD USA, to see what they have to say about this mess..
I took out 2, 8 rods, and I supposedly did damage to my head also.

First off
AFTERMARKET PARTS WILL NOT VOID YOUR WARRANTY! They have to cause the problem. Second off, the TRD unit is warranteed by Toyota, so it would not void it. I had a SC on my 2000 4r and it was covered by not only the Toyota drivetrain warranty, but also the extended warranty- I know, they made warranty repairs on it.
Second, TRD needs to recall these units if there is a problem, like Pitbull said. This is a case that they cannot win, since there is no official statement from toyota or trd that prohibits dealers from doing the install, regardless of the timing involved. If you had an independent garage do the install, they would have no way of knowing there was a recall or issue with the unit.
There seems to have been an issue with the tranny shifting out of 1st gear, which is not controlled by the supercharger or additional ecu, as that function is controlled by the factory ecu, which sends out the signal, so how toyota can claim the supercharger was at fault is beyond me, as its possible the engine would have thrown a rod regardless, if it wasn't shifting.

Page 11 states that un approved parts may void the warranty, and it will only void the part that was damaged, not the entire vehicle.
TRD parts are approved.
Swapping in a lift kit, for example may void any repairs to the ball joints, but won't affect warranty coverage on your water pump. The damage caused has to be related to the part installed.

It is Toyota that backs the warranty and not the customer, they also set the terms.
There is enough fine print in all warranties to void them if any modification has been made.
Toyota and only Toyota will decided if they will honor the warranty in any case.
Sure you can sue them, but the cost of the suit would be many times the price of the repair.

Plus it sets a precedent that Toyota does not want. They will pay after the letter from the Lawyer. Watch
