Bluetooth working great but will not auto connect to iPhone 4. Fix?

Every morning in order to connect to the 4Runner (2012 SR5 non-Nav) I have to cycle the power of the Bluetooth on my Verizon iPhone 4, then it connects right away and works great. I am running the latest version of iOS. Any fix for this? I did search but could not find this issue on other posts.

I have the non nav in my 2011 and I also have the iphone4 with verizon. I'd say about 95% of the time it connects to BT without an issue. When it rarely does not I just switch between airplane mode and then back and then it connects. Faster for me than turning it off completely. Maybe there is something different with the 2012 radio.

2011 LE NAV & I4 - no issues

I have a 2011 LE with Nav and have a I4 and it works great, can't remember the lest time, if ever, it do not immediately connect.

"Forgot" the pairing at both ends and soft reset the phone and repaired. Still not connecting automatically after not having contact overnight. But after the first manual connection it will auto connect for future trips in the same day. I never thought of cycling airplane mode. It is a much faster option and works every time. Thanks.

I made sure to pair the phone first...then the audio (it will disconnect the phone BT), then make a phone call via the steering wheel buttons to force it to connect BT to phone again.

After that, I've had no problems w/ it auto-pairing both BT's when I start the car.

is it phone part of BT or both phone and audio player?switching between phone and audio is a PITA as well,

Yes.

First delete all previous links. Then restart the pairing by doing the phone first. Then do the audio.

If that doesn't work, delete all the links again and do audio first, then phone.

Don't ask me why it works...it just did the first time I paired my phone. When I had trouble pairing to a rental Corolla from the dealer, I do the phone first and then audio. If that doesn't work, I got it to work by doing audio first then phone. I can't really explain why some work in certain orders...LOL.
