Body mount bolts?

Is this what you guy's front body mount bolts look like? Just seems to be somewhat vulnerable to me. I assume they are hex shaped at the bottom so that you can hold that with a wrench while you undo the nut?

Why would ours look any different lol.

most likely it is hex at the bottom because the tool that installs them turns the hex part to the required torque wile holding the nut flush against the washer to avoid deforming the rubber bushing.

This is common in high strength fasteners

Mine look a little different. Probably due to the rock I came down on.

Idk I've been reading this forum for about a year or so and of all the suspension and body mount pictures I've seen, I don't recall it looking like this, I was just curious.

And rochmpr verified exactly what I was thinking, it seems to be quite vulnerable.

It won't hurt it if bent. If you have to take that bolt out you have more of a problem than a bent bolt...
The length and hex are for a jig fixture on the assembly line.

That's how they look. They have a washer on top with wings that keeps it from turning too much when tightening. But the Allen head on the bottom is more for manufacturing I imagine as it'd be tricky for a machine to do it quickly other wise.

I wouldn't be too worried about it, it's not in a spot that's extremely easy to nick. A lot of guys have beat their 4th and 5th gens to hell and back and I don't recall anyone ever bending/nicking those bolt ends.
