Body Work replacing 2011 parts with 2014

So my 2011 got the back hatch and bumper dented. F@*k!!!

The dent on the hatch is minimal, but insurance is recommending a new OEM hatch. Not sure how I feel about taking doors off as I am afraid it'll never be the same as the factory put it together. Maybe that's unfounded worry.

But anyway, it might be for the best since the hatch has the rust around the emblem which was going to get fixed (via warranty) this spring anyway. Maybe a new door (with new paint and a better rubber gasket protecting the paint from the emblem) is the way to go.

I also won't miss the back bumper since I raked it while 4-wheeling in the desert last spring. The underside was scratched up.

Does anyone know if a 2014 bumper will fit (without modification) the 2011? I know there has been countless back-and-forth about the LED lights and other parts swapping out, but what do we think about the rear bumper? It might look stupid because my SR5 has the chrome around the bumper and the new ones do not (which is an improvement IMO), I just like the 2014 rear bumper as the exit angle seems sharper which would avoid future damage.

Oh, I do need to replace one rear tail light. Should I get the 2014 LED?

And does anyone have an undamaged factory bumper they want to part with?

seriously? If you are saying it is not a big deal than tell th einsurance company to send you the check to get it done and use that money to mod your rig..... DUH

Perhaps they do things differently in Floriduh Stiffy, but around these-hyar parts many ins cos won't do that ... instead writing the check to the insured AND a repair facility.

The insurance company cut me a check on the spot after the appraisal. I just want to fix my ride. And might want to improve it at the same time. The insurance company won't check in to see my progress. I could just as easily go buy all replacement parts off a front end total from a junk yard. Just gotta make it right.

You should check to see if the LED tail light runs on the same voltage as the light you're replacing.

I'm not opposed to LED tail lights, but not sure why everyone wants them so bad.

Is it their long life or because they look cooler? If it doesn't save fuel or make the rig look better, than I don't get the attraction. I've seen the new lights during the day, but haven't seen the,m on at night yet. I gotta keep my eyes out to see what I'm missing.

No one has tried installing the rear bumper from a 2014 on the 2010 thru 2013's? Wow, with all the threads on converting SR5's into Trails, I would've thought this modification would have been tried. C'mon folks lets hear the dirt.

You have to remember that the 14s are fairly new. Converting sr5s to trails from 10-13s is common cause its the same body panels across the board. I'm sure the rear bumper mounts up the same way, if it doesn't, take it to any body shop and they'll get it done.

Or use my method on my fenders, use zip ties.....

No zip ties. It's gotta fit right otherwise I might as well install the 2011 bumper cover

Even if you were to buy the rear hatch new thats all you would get, the empty hatch. Everything else that is in, on, around the hatch would come off of the old one so there'd be no new rubber to better protect your paint from the rear garnish. As to the bumper cover, pretty sure that the rear fender flares are different on the 14 as compared to the 10-13 SR/Limited

I'll figure out some sort of protection from the rear garnish.

As for the rear fender flare, I know it's different in the front where it meets the rocker, but I think it might be the same depth where it meets the rear bumper cover.
