I am looking for a spot to mount a bracket in my engine bay with some self tapping screws and was considering this spot on the firewall right behind the air filter.
Is there a buffer area behind here or will I just be putting a hole right into the cabin? Once I mount the bracket, is there something I should do to protect the holes against rust?
