One side, the passenger side's, brake lights are quite a bit brighter than the others. Has anyone encountered this? What should I do?

Are the parking lights on? Could it be brake light filament of the bulb is burnt on the other side? Or it lights up on both sides when the parking light is off and one side is brighter.

I would start with replacing both bulbs first. It'll cost you $5 or so, rather than pay for a diagnostic only to have them tell you they replaced the bulbs. With the exception of the 4Runner (LED tails), but my other Toyotas eat taillight bulbs. I've probably replace taillights probably every two years. My Mazda gone 15yrs on the OEM bulbs.

more than likely different wattage bulb or burnt out fillament of one side simple fix just replace both bulbs with same light on both sides.
