We got dumped on this weekend, a couple feet of fresh snow...

I wanted to go wheelin this weekend but I spent all day Saturday shoveling snow and Sunday I had to give my truck some attention (put on my new and improved links and did a bunch of maintenance) so I had to pass on wheelin with the homies. Oh well, next time.

I'm jealous. As soon as I got my duratracs, our snow pretty much stopped. Seeing your pics makes me want to pack up my 4runner and move back west.

Snowblowers rock! My shoulders and back are hurting today. It felt good though to go outside and work out for 6 or 7 hours shoveling my truck out, my decks, and all my walkways. The snow on my deck was over my head because of the run-off from my roof was piling up, I was seriously worried it was going to break off!

Are you really jealous that the cold weather is going away? Now the rust will slow, and you walk outside without a jacket, unfotunatley im at college right now in upstate new york with a jetta with balding summer tires, and its still snowing :'(

Yes, I am. The only thing I am looking forward to is being able to work on my car more. And the rust isn't the snows fault, it's the fault of the stupid northeast using salt on the roads. I love the snow, and the cold weather. I miss the longer winters of Colorado, we are starting to thaw out here.

Yeah, we get about this much or more almost every year! I'm Lake Arrowhead, about 45 minutes West of Big Bear, CA.

I have never heard of such a thing, but googled it and thats by tahoe... More like 3 hours west of Vegas

Or an hour and a half west of Reno! My guess was a little too far north...my dad lives up there.

So I got my OME 861s in (thanks to J-money$$ for helping me out). Those coils are so long, I tried to do them by myself, but it wasn't happening. The easiest way we found to do it is to take out the lower shock bolt and let the shock hang, drive up a hill to flex it out and have your buddy swap the coil. Then repeat for the other side.

I also got my upper and lower links all in and they are great! We improved our design and the new links still have heim joints on the axle mounts, but we went with poly bushings on the frame mounts. This eliminated all the clunky noise and also allows some give so the bolt holes won't get rounded out. Here's a pic of the uppers (the lowers are basically the same except they're bigger, they're .250" wall instead of .120" wall, and the bushings on the lowers are welded directly to the tubes)...

Here's how she sits today (pics are in front of the rifle range near my house - I was out there plinking with my .22 Henry repeater today)...

No, it's just the angle of the pic. My links are set to stock length.

I must say playing in the snow is more fun than working in it. but they say if you can play in it you should be able to work in it.

shoveling isn't bad cause you get to see your progress. lol till it dumps again.
I love the snow.

and Brian, I might have to come visit you to play in the snow and buy you that beer I feel I owe you. once I get my rig set up I will want to do some wheeling with a seasoned wheeler.

Any issues with the trac bar at all like me?

No it doesn't feel any different when I'm driving now than before. I got about 1.5" more lift than I had with the 891s + 20mm spacers. I went wheelin last weekend and broke em in a little and I think they settled down just a little bit. My axle is shifted over ~1/4" to the passenger side (it was ~3/16" before), but it's been driving fine. It shakes a little bit at 50-55, but that's because my alignment is out.

Well at least it all went well. looks like i'm going to install the drop bracket and see if that fixes anything.
