Here's a few more teaser pics..
We got the rear trimmed for the 35s! Since I made some 1.5" bump stop spacers, I really didn't have to do much cutting at all on the back fenders. Only a 2" long spot on each side right above the rear bumper and that's it. They clear just fine now and I'm almost ready to wheel! My Dad's forklift sure makes this kind of thing a lot easier (It'll be nice when I do the engine swap too)!
I'm waiting on 2 wheel spacers and a new steering rack guide (both will be here tomorrow), then I can mount the tires and go get an alignment probably on Tuesday and then I'll be done for a little while.

nice, i always like your style man, way to go with 35's and not look stupid, i hope you know what i mean when i say that, you got a good eye where other's just slap some 35's on there and think it's cool because of the larger tire size, your stuff actually looks good as well. nice work!

I agree. Once you wheel them, any other color is going to scratch back to silver anyway.

Ah, SOOO much better than the Crager's with 255's. That looks awesome. In my opinion, you really can't beat a 35" M/T on the 5-star wheel. It's just the perfect look for a lifted 3rd gen.

Rubbing!? How much fender on the front did you trim? I can see you had to trim the rear bumper... I had to do that as well with the 35's. Also dropped my bump stops down an extra 2 inches as well.

I agree. I always wanted the 5 stars, just didn't ever find them for a good deal until now. The timing worked out perfect with my 35s.
There's a little more info a couple pages back on my trimming, but I trimmed off about an inch towards the bottom of the front fenders with the angle grinder. And then I pounded the firewall in a good 1.25" (which still took a lot of effort even with a very heavy sledge). I also had to remove my washer fluid reservoir liner and the pump for the rear window sprayer (which I plugged with a wine cork). I stacked 1/4" worth of washers under all 4 front bump stops too.
For the back, it was really minimal trimming right above the rear bumper (I didn't have to trim the CBI at all) and that's it. I dropped my factory rear bump stops 1.5" also (I just cut a 3" rubber mallett in 1/2 for a spacer and drilled a hole in each piece).

As far as power goes, it's actually not that terribly bad. I just came up the mountain (from ~1K to 6K elevation) after I got it aligned and although I did feel a power loss, it wasn't as bad as I had anticipated. I went up about as fast with 35s and 4.88s as I used to with 33s and 4.10s. I definitely still want to get a supercharger, but it'll be bearable for a while.
