Bridging head unit for center channel?

If I had to guess I'd say it wouldn't work. Most head units will A. Not drive a low impedance setup and B. Have a protection circuit that will trip when you connect the left and right channels together. You will get no output typically. Why not look into a jbl ms8 that does processing and has the amp built in... You could wire it up super easy and you'd get your center back with a real center speaker signal.
 
That's kinda what I figured. As far as the MS-8 goes: that is very impressive. I've never seen anything like that. I'm going to have to look into it once my new job's paychecks start coming through. That looks like a really solid option. Thanks a lot!
