SPC Jounce Rear Bumps

Objective: Install Jounce kit to prevent hard slams of rear end when loaded with gear

Process:

  • Remove rear springs
  • Drill 4 holes, a notch for the set screw
  • It's worth mentioning there is a slight interference with the drivers side brake line. If you repurpose this hole be careful not to nick the brake line when you drill the hole near the framerail.

Holes drilled and primered

Pretty excited myself. Hopefully these will avoid slamming the rear when its loaded.

How are you liking them? I love my light racing bumps in the front. The harder you hit it seems the better they work. I do think I will be adjusting the high speed compression setting slightly. I know I will eventually do the back too. I'm looking forward to your review on them.

I'm waiting to run them too hard. I ordered some new rear shocks today and will have to wait until those are installed. I'm constrained by the shock length I have in there now.

Did you post a review of your fronts?

Thanks. My camera doesn't do night shots very well but I'll see what I can come up with.

I try to document what I've done to make it easier for the next guy. I use the forums a lot myself.

Thinking of getting these and running an HID inner.

I am pretty spoiled by my other two cars, an Acura TSX with an excellent factory HID setup, and my daily driver is a Nissan Leaf with a factory LED headlights; both setups are far better than any reflectorized halogen setup like the 4Runner has. The HID and LEDs in the Acura and Leaf have double or triple the light off to the side, and it really spoils a person.

I have held off on a projector retrofit because I hate the bug-eyed look, but these give a much better look. Are the lenses glass or plastic? Looking forward to more photos.

I think if these work out, you're gonna need to post the exact links of where you got the headlights and projectors. :)

Hi, somewhere in USA to buy lights like yours?

Not that I know of. The Russian place seems to be the only outfit that sellls them. I emailed various sellers of similiar lights for similiar year tacos, but they were not avalible. I wasnt enthusiastic about sending a western union so unsecure, but it worked out and shipping time was quick.

My BMW has nice projectors so I know the feeling. Going from that to the 4runner, its like, are my lights even on? The buyeye looks to far from OEM for my tastes. Function wise a larger projector is hard to beat.

Will do, I'll add a link to the projectors.

Can't wait to see how the headlights turn out.

Me too. Looks like its going to work out well. I need ot figure out how to mount the HID with its different attachments. The headlight has that ABS mounting plate but its made for the old projector. I am thinking a peice of HDPE/puckboard will make a nice adapter plate. Also thinking a peice of sheetmetal with some washers/standoffs. I need about 0.5-1 CM thickness and a different hole pattern.

What I don't understand is ..... So the kit comes with a projector on one side and a basic reflector dish on other.

Are you going to put in a different projector on each part, so 2 projectors in each housing?

Objective: Protect elocker, install guard

Process:

  • Install elocked guard, check for interference with sway
  • Grind off corner to clear sway

The light comes with a halogen projector and a std dish reflector. I bought a HID projector to swap into the halogen projector spot.
