Who are you talking about? Me?

I just placed a order for my winch mounts. That was my email confirmation. Btw, 5th Gen is in stock, 4th Gen is not. It's in production. So that's why I placed my order :)

.....
Since budbuilt kept telling me it was almost ready since April and nothing was actually ready till October ....

April to October, OMG. The website says usually ships in 1-4 weeks. It's been two weeks for me, I hope the website is correct!

It bolts to the frame via 6 of the 8 bolts that hold the front crossmember to the frame. The 2 u-bolts give it extra support.

So it slides between the frame and the front bumper cross member? I went to check Bud's site, but not much info or pictures.

When mine comes we'll have a full write up. Also will be confirming how this will play out with a curt mfg front hitch receiver and train horns lol and a winch in that area lol. 20# of xxxx, in a 5# bag anyone :)

I misstated earlier, so let me clarify slightly. It slides inside the front crossmember. There is 1 bolt inside the cross member and 3 on the outside of the cross member. The budbuilt plate attaches to the frame using the inside bolt. The 4th & 5th picture from the top shows the plate inside the crossmember.

I got hold of them recently (two weeks after my order) and was told "about a week" to get them in (from a cutter or someone, don't remember) and then it takes another week to go through powder coating. That would put it at 4 weeks to ship my order. But I can't say they sounded confident in the estimate.

where is everyone mounting the solenoid box with this plate? also is the clutch easy to get to since its all hidden inside the bumper?

4 weeks does not sound to bad. when i ordered my CBI front hitch it took about that long

should be easy to get to, you should have a ton of space behind the bumper

Is there a winch thread somewhere that I can go thru to make my winch choice? Also what ergo model did you go with and why outrnm ?

I'm not sure if outrnm did the same but I picked up the Engo EPF 10,000S for $439 (shipped). The Engo 9,000s was arguably the best tested here: Massive Multi-Winch Shootout - Four Wheeler Magazine. I've also found some good reviews (mostly in jeep forums). It is not one of the two big brands but the shootout, real life reviews, and the really low price that includes synthetic line sealed it for me.

Engo was started by the guy that ran MileMarker winches.

I used the Engo 9000 with Synthetic on my Landrover.

I would look at the Warn VR & M series, TJM Stealth Series, Ironman and MileMarker Scouts. Personally I don't trust the Smittybuilts.

WXMan - thanks. Just right for many of us who don't need a full steel bumpers.

exactly 3 weeks from order to shipping

Super thread! Very helpful. As far as the winch goes I will vouch for the Vortex. I have pulled out 2 friends with the one on my Jeep and never had a problem. Also pulled up several shrubs with serious root systems. They come with remote control and that is what I used most of the time.
