BudBuilt Battery Tray...

The infamous words!

I just corresponded with Bud at BudBuilt about the progress of the 2010 4runner and up battery trays. There has been a long delay for various reasons some of which the newer 4runner trims are to blame. He said he's close to nailing down a design that will work for the 2010's to the most current 2014's toyota 4runners. I do not have any pictures yet but wanted to see what peoples interests where in ordering one?

I understand there's various questions you'll have like price, time, size, weight, mounting location, hardware etc... but those details will come at a later date and hopefully soon.

This is just a feeler to see what the current interest is out there...

Kindly just respond saying your interested... thats all I need :)

Thanks MeBE/ Ollie

Is this a 2010 aux battery tray (What group size?)? or a Group 31M primary battery tray?

If either, I'm interested, pending final cost.

Okki

i doubt it will work for the 2014's without a lot of modifications as we have all that garbage emissions stuff there (not sure if previous years had it too)

nevertheless, i am interested in checking it out.

Thank you guys, this is a great start!

I have forwarded this link to Bud. Hopefully this will help get these battery trays completed faster. I will keep this thread posted as soon as I hear anything!

This was my thought too but according to his last e-mail to me he's working on something and coming closer to a solution, who knows!? This is Bud quote on quote:
Product development takes forever when you have to borrow vehicles to develop on. And we discovered that the ones that fit the 2010s do NOT fit the 11 and newer ones so we had more work to do so they would fit them all. :)

Andrew, long time no hear! You can still keep your solar setup with a dual battery setup. If fact it can work great when your charing a laptop, cell phone and the engine if off! Are you ditching because of the overall output it provides or because its a pain to set-up every time you want to use it??

Yes, its an auxiliary battery tray located the other side of the OEM factory battery location. Passengers side. Good questions, Im sure Bud will have the answers to that soon.

Mainly the overall output and space it takes up in the rear. Also they aren't reliable on overcast days lol. While I was out in Moab on White Rim, we had food packed for 2 days (in the ARB freezer), the food for one of those days ended up spoiling cause the batteries weren't being charged due to the fact that the sun wasn't out. Also you can't keep it running all night and then run it the following day, takes about 7 hours to fully charge one battery. Its a headache.

Very interested.

VERY interested! I almost placed my order for an ABR Sidewinder tray today, but decided to wait for some unknown reason...
