BudBuilt TE skids and sliders

On the crossmember, the lower rear holes in my frame are not threaded, but have holes on both sides of the frame.

I am planning to pickup some long carriage bolts to go through the frame, unless someone can tell me why it would be a bad idea.

Are those long bolts included in your package of installation hardware from bud? If not maybe I'd grab some of those length bolts in Grade 8, instead of carriage bolts that you mentioned. Not sure what's the tensile strength of carriage bolts, but I would imagine it's probably a lot lower than grade 8? Better safe than sorry

Anyways, let me know what you come up with and pix if you have the time, you know who will be needing this info in shortly, lol.

Thanks! It looks like I got the cross member hardware bag for an FJC. I got 4 gold bolts, 3 long carriage bolts, and none of those longs bolts or nylock nuts. The 3 long carriage bolts I got must have been meant to go through the cross member on the FJC version, vs the flat plate on ours, because they were way too long.

I just saw this. I think you guys figured it out the same as I did.

You can see the bolts and the bag labeled 4R in the photo.

Granted I spent a considerable about of time dicking around with the cross member when I installed because there was no instructions. As a result, I have never been 100% sure anything BB was installed as it was intended....
