Bug Deflector Recommendations

Looking for recommendations for a bug deflector for my 2021. I am starting to notice to paint chips right around the front edge of the hood.

I am leaning toward the bolt on WeatherTech, but I've also looked at the AVS and OEM bolt ons.

Thought? Experiences? Opinions? Pics?

Any bug deflector may interfere with TSS, so should be avoided.

A bug deflector works by redirecting air flow so bugs don't hit the windshield. It wont deflect heavier stuff (rocks) and certainly does not protect the front bumper cover from rock chips.

Best solution for rock chips in the paint is to get paint protection film, sometimes called a clear bra, when the car is new. Obviously adding it later after you already have rock chips does no good.

How is a bug/stone deflector going to effect the TSS? It's mounted above and behind the grille surround. The TSS sensor will never be able to sense it's there.

The TSS works fine with an AVS BugFlector II, OP.

I have the OEM on my 2021 TRD ORP. It's been on 2 years come this November. No complaints and no issues with TSS. I tried the AVS but couldn't get the hood to close without severe hood adjustments and then significant paint rubbing. Yes, the OEM uses metal clips. Yes, I doubled up on heavy paint protectant film under the clips. No, I have no clips rubbing through the triple layer of film. The shield is firmly mounted.

No adjustments of any kind needed on mine, to mount the AVS Bugflector II, and no paint rubbing. In October it will be 2 years since I installed it.

I did put some PPF on the back edge of the grille surround, and the leading edge of the hood as a precautionary measure. No signs of rubbing on the PPF from the deflector.
