Bug Deflector

between the OEM and AVS... they both look good to me, i will say aesthetically i like the OEM Toyota one a little more, it's a bit less tapered and more angular in the corners, which seems to match the body style and lines of the 4R better. but for the price difference i don't think you can go wrong with the AVS either...

the AVS Aeroskin looks really good, cool lines, low profile, but the mounting with 3M on the exterior of the hood part i do not like

Agreed on all counts. I like the looks of the AVS Aeroskin the best but the 3M adhesive killed it for me.
 
My 2015 has the factory mylar at the door handles and door edges. How little effort it would have taken Toyota to have installed it also at the front hood edge. I would have gladly paid for it in lieu of the deflector.
 
Ordered the weathertech the same day I purchased my trd. Went on in 5 minutes and fits perfectly. No issues closing the hood.

My gf ordered a deflector and the side wind deflectors from WeatherTech for my birthday. I should have them next week. Looking forward to them.
 
AVS Aeroskin

After touching up my first stone chip on the leading edge of my hood I decided to protect it. I ordered the AVS Aeroskin from amazon for about $45. Here's a picture.

I don't have bug deflector, but now that I see, 4runners look more aggressive. I think I'm going to get one.

Hey Guys, New owner of a 2016 Classic Silver SR5 Premium. I just received the AVS Bugflector II. On the box it said for 2010-2013 4 runners. So I was concerned. Took out the hardware and noticed screws were circular while the holes in the hood were square. Tried them and they do not take. Screws Are too small to catch in the square holes. The gentleman above mentioned he installed a Bugflector 2 on his newer 4 runner but my screws aren't Stainless steel. Can/Should I install this Bugflector II or try to return it and get The normal Bugflector. If I keep it, what do I need to install it? It kind of concerns me that since the 2014 model, the Bugflector II does not seem to be available for the 14-16. I wonder why.
 
BugflectorII absolutely fits the 2016's. I ordered this one: Auto Ventshade 25053 Bugflector II Hood Shield off Amazon. Fit perfectly. Maybe you got some bad hardware?
 
Talked to Lund international and compared the instructions I have vs. what was included. CS agent said what i had was completely wrong. They are shipping out the correct hardware and instructions today. Should get them Saturday. Thanks for the response Avalon786. You saved me having to send back the whole thing.

Some people talked about wind noise with the BugDeflector II. Any one else experience wind noise?

There should be plastic inserts that snap into the square holes.
 
AVS Bugflector II

I can confirm that AVS Bugflector II fits 2015 LE. Funny thing-I found few Weathertech brochures inside the box.
I went with AVS, because OEM Toyota hood protector developed lots of mini cracks after three years on my SR5.
I am very happy with looks and fit of AVS and for the price I can replace it every three years if needed

Please check for the package with square plastic inserts. If you cannot find them-contact the seller.
