I would have bought that on the spot if I had seen it pop up in my town when I was buying my 4runner. They never have nice used 4runners around here, if they do they sell immediately.

The pics make it look worse than it is. That section of Black Bear has *just* enough of an angle of descent to fool your eye and the camera .

That's not to say I didn't get out and scout it first ;-).

Something like rock sliders, so what if they took them off, just lower the price in your mind.

My EYES made it look worse than it is! Scared the cr@p out of me - that's why I drove it twice that year (FJ Summit #7) and once the next year (FJ Summit #8) and plan to do it again this year. Gotta overcome the fear.

Technically, Black Bear Bass is no harder than any of the other trails in the Silverton/Ouray/Telluride area. It's the visual that the photo shows that makes it so different!

So upon dealing with the dealership some today I was informed something interesting. Apparently the car had been "semi bought" for about a week by a friend of Gary's and was then brought back. Sooo I'm curious if it was anyone that is known here and perhaps why it was taken and then brought back. Was there a swapping of parts that might not be noticed or an issue that was found? Still trying to get a hold of the po, anyone have contact info they could pm me? Thanks again in advance :doh:

He had a lot of quotes/links from the FJ forum and being this is the last year for FJs, I bet he went with a FJ

I'm interested to see what he's moved onto, I remember his and many of the "original" modders when I joined several years ago (PhillyD2, Antman, Harper7, Ducmonsta, ummm the rest are in the build threads sticky lol).

Side note on moving on: I'm moving to a full size truck next year for towing purposes and selling my 2012, not as modded as Harper7's but plenty enough for fun adventures on and off road. I'll post it up when it I'm ready to sell it when I'm back from the sand box.
