Buying new tires at SAMS CLUB

Okay so basically I know there's a lot of threads with a bunch of different tire sizes for different situations i.e. outdoor tires, performance, general use tire, etc but my options are very limited here as I can only go through Sams Club when buying tires. I would look at other places if I could, but I'm not the one paying for the new tires so it will have to be handled through Sams Club.

If someone here can click on that link, and tell me which tires to go with that would be great. I'm basically looking for tires that will solely be based on general use. I do not have 4WD ( ) so outdoor off roading is out of the question. Maybe if I can get tires that will help me efficiently save gas then that would be great! Money is not an issue. Thanks again!

Nuttin wrong with Sams Club or the Wholesale places! I got a set of BFG Longtrail T/A's at BJ's over 4 years ago and paid barely $600 for all 4 installed.

Liked em so much that when i bought the 08 last year i had the dealership take off the new Dun-Flops and put on a set of the BFG's if they wanted my business.

Michelin's hand down if you have the bucks... Best ride and comfort...very low noise and finally, they last a very long time... to me they are worth the extra money just because they will go way further than almost any other competitor...


Also the higher the treadwear number that longer they should last.... just FYI

I have the Michelin LTX A/T2 on my truck, they are noisier for sure, but I wanted the aggressive look so I expected the noise....But mine do not shimmy at all on the highway and barely have any weights on the rims....I like that alot!

Best all around tire would be the Michelin LTX M/S IMO

I use to buy tires from Sam's when I lived near one. We have another wholesale club here in the North East called BJ's (part of the TJ Max corp). I use to buy tires from them until their tire shop is now run by Monroe Muffler....Sleaze outfit if there ever was one.

Michelins or BFG's make good tires. They're the same company now.

one thing I found at Sam's is that my local store wouldn't mount anything but an OEM standard size tire. They wouldn't up size when I asked. I've heard this isn't true at all Sam's Clubs and that it depends on the tire dept manager.

The local Costco had the same policy when I asked.

According to your wikipedia link, BF Goodrich (the tire brand) is owned and manufactured by Michelin.

yeah... May 1990 they officially completed their buyout...so now they are owners...but its under contract to be sold off...

Don't confuse BF Goodrich (tires) with Goodrich (aerospace). Different companies.

BF Goodrich tires (& Uniroyal) are made and owned by Michellin. Have been for awhile and I haven't read anything that states that will change in the future.

Goodrich is owned by UTC.

Sam's Clubs can have good tire deals but usually have limited selection and sizes available. Call ahead.

Last time I bought tires from Sam's....they were able to ORDER any tire I wanted. Same low price.
