how often do you change your filter with this version?

This what I started to do once I found the correlation why my cabin filter became wet and clogged then the problem we me remembering to do this then it became human error. I used the filter for another few months until it was dirty then when back to the non charcoal filters.

Okay maybe best to not fill landfills with used paper filters, better? Also more dirty to the inside of the truck we are talking about cabin filter right? I am not arguing the K&N lets dirt into the engine, I'll do what I want and have for 15+years with K&N and now a TRD air filter and you do what you want.

I usually just buy a premium house furnace filter from lowes or home depot and cut it to size.
I can get 2-4 filters out of one purchase.
My wife is allergic to everything and has never complained about it.
Car interior stays super clean and it's a win win... if it's good enough for the house, it's good enough for the car.

that kind of prefilter media is really cheap, you could get some and cut a square

I have used the TYC and the Fram Fresh Carbon filters, I prefer the Fram, check Ebay they usually are cheaper than your "local" cost
I put mine in a year ago and have yet to change it. Immediately after putting it on, I definitely noticed a reduction of smoke odors and car exhaust fumes. I have only put about 5k miles since I put it in and have yet to see an increase in odors.
That is the OEM Toyota without activated charcoal. The correct part number for the Lexus version with activated charcoal is Lexus 87139-50100. The activated charcoal reduces odors a lot.

For my 2018 TORP I got this cabin air filter on Amazon. EPAuto CP285 (CF10285). $8.87 for one or $13.87 for two.
It looks well made and is beefier than the OEM filter that came with the truck and seems to have more carbon impregnating the fibers.
After 9 months and 14000 miles the OEM filter captured a good amount of particles and leaf chunks. In the future I think I’ll change it every 6 months.

I recently switched to this one too and really notice the difference in reduced exhaust smell and what not. Worth the $40 in my book.
I am curious about the house filter option and cutting to size. may try this next time.

This is the same exact one I just ordered yesterday! looking forward to seeing how it performs because after one year the cabin is starting to smell like mildew with just the fan on. I probably should have changed it sooner :lol:
