Calgary Alberta Wheeling Anyone??

I know this is in the wrong thread, but NO one goes to the "meets" section, just looking for some peoples to off road with, so heres my stories. So i have a pretty nicely bulit 97 4runner, spent a lot of monies on it and basically have no one to off road with. I have one good friend that i purposely purchased a 4runner for as a wedding present and spent MANY hours building his truck just to have someone to go wheeling with. Long story short, the guys soft and has no balls being his wife controls him and shes a very annoying princess, the last run we went on we did one stupid trail and then she threw a fit and wanted to go home, the run before that she actually CRIED because the ride was too bumpy, tears literally came out of her eyes, i laughed soo hard and loud right in front of her, she wanted to stab me, doesnt bother me because id like to go wheeling on her face. Anyways i dont wanna deal with that crap anymore, just wondering if theres anyone out there in the calgary area that wants to hit up Mclean creek for some off road fun. Now i dont mean to sound like a dooche but not looking to go with stock trucks with all season tires and open diffs, wont be fun if we spend all day pulling you out lol my trucks lifted, super swampers, locked front and back, winch and the list goes on. Thanks

I think [MENTION=66300]Intruder[/MENTION] tries to go offroading in Calgary maybe a few times a year - but his 4runner is stock as you can see from his signature, you probably wouldn't want to go with him.
 
There's CT4WD, Jeep Junkies, RMLCA, and even Beyond has a 4x4 section on their forum where you can organize runs. CJA too, but I think you can only go on their runs if you have a Jeep. There are some other smaller groups around but I can't remember any of their names.

It's still mostly stock like the engine, body, rear locker, interior, and stuff like that...

When I was in college I decided I wanted to get into mountain biking, not long after starting out I met a dude that rode and he invited me out for a ride, it was awesome and he showed me some new trails (I sucked relative to him). Turned out he was a semi pro racer and very well known, I was pretty much hooked though and within a few years racing at a high level myself. I like to go ride with just about anyone still, if someone is slower or just starting out maybe I can help them along and down the road they'll help others or help build a trail or anything else to further the sport.

To keep it related, 4runners rule!
 
I'm also in Calgary, and plan on signing up for some rue with CT4WD pretty soon. don't have the time right now, out of ton too often for it to be worth it, but i did manage to get some in this past weekend down in the Lundbreck/Coleman/Pincher Creek Area when i went camping. Quite amazed at the capability of a basically stock (actually stock, not like [MENTION=66300]Intruder[/MENTION]) 2014 Trail Edition. never got stuck, and made it through some pretty damn greasy stuff.

tried joining CT4WD but they need to reply back for you to join and i got no reply back.... this was like a month ago :(

ya but im sure your mountain biking buddy didnt have to hold your hand while you rode your bike, when you spend most of the day pulling someone out, it gets annoying and boring

stock trail edition with good tires is good enough, rear locker and good tires can getter done. im not saying something just like mine, just not something with open diffs and regular tires, ive been out with trucks like that and it gets tiring having to pull them out every 100 ft lol

Just go to the forum and sign up there. Post an intro in the introduction forum, then feel free to sign up for a membership and the trail ethics and safety course which is a basic prerequisite for most of the club runs. A lot of stock trucks their but it's a good group.

The first time it probably felt like that to him, a few years later that was long forgotten and sometimes joked about.

Just go to the forum and sign up. Post an intro then feel free to post up an unofficial run. Make sure to read the forum rules too otherwise I'll, uh, I mean the moderator will get annoyed.

Everybody has to start somewhere and nobody was born an expert at anything other than pooping their diapers. Different people have different comfort levels
especially if they're wheeling a newer vehicle or their daily driver. I know my first time out with my month-old 4Runner I was scared shitless that I'd break something. Over the years I got more comfortable with it, but some people never get to that point. I've seen people all gung ho to go on their first trail run then never come out again and others (like [MENTION=77842]EasylyConfused[/MENTION]) turn into addicts.

Everybody has to start somewhere and nobody was born an expert at anything other than pooping their diapers. Different people have different comfort levels

ya i now what you mean, i was a beginner at one point also...i probably still am, but my point is no matter the skill level, if you dont have basic equipment like proper tires, doesnt matter what your skill level is, you wont be able to get threw basic trails

Just fyi, you need to take the trail ethics and safety course before you can go on any of the official trail runs with CT4WD. You can set up your own unofficial run on the forum any time you want though.

There's a course this Saturday if you're interested. The only thing I'll warn you about is that on the official trail runs we do there are often people who've never been off road before and they sometimes get stuck or need to be spotted through obstacles. Just figured you should know this ahead of time.

Man you guys take me as such a dooche LOL you guys are taking it the wrong way, i dont care if others get stuck or need a spot, thats not my point, i get stock often and always need a spot. What i was saying is its no fun going with bone stock base model trucks that have all season tires because they got stuck WAY too often. I remember one day last year or two years ago, i met a few of you CT4WD guys at Mclean creek and all THREE of you were annoyed that day because you were with trucks that KEPT getting stuck and spent most of the day pulling trucks out, it wasnt a CT4WD meet, it was a beyond meet. just saying theres nothing wrong with people getting stuck and needing to be spotted, i need to be spotted often and get stuck as well, just saying its no fun when a truck lacks the proper basic equipment needed like tires.

And thanks for the info on the course this saturday, ill try to make it
