I will start off with SoCal - San Diego County.

Don't believe it snows in SoCal? Neither did I until today.

This morning I woke up to the radio news and heard there was 8-10" fresh powder on Palomar Mtn. near Julian; roughly 1.5 hr drive from Carlsbad.

Since I had the spare cycles at work, I decided to make a day trip out of it.

Wow, haha that probably doesnt happen very often.

I'll trade you all the snow Canada has for all the sunshine Cali gets? haha

Great pics Brian - it's nice you don't even have to worry about road salt getting on your rig on your way back home! Jealous.
 
Not sure if you SoCal guys are getting hit, but we are supposed to get a half foot here at 3000ft in NorCal tonight. Hope it doesn't get much more than that, I absolutely hated last years winter from hell.

These are from Tuolumne County, CA

We got 4 feet last year here. Which is absolutely nuts. It honestly sucked, we didn't have power half the time. This is the same day, happend to be the same day I put my bumper on.

This is taken off our back porch 4 hours later. The next day our shop caught on fire from down power lines that were still live.

The most snow my 4runner has seen and probably will see. Had to leave it overnight in a snow storm after getting horribly stuck on a forest road

And this was 2 weeks ago at my cabin, at 6 in the morning ready to leave for the final stretch to Utah. Looking out onto the eastern Sierras.

Robert, if you and your family get any more time off, there is lots of snow at Dodge Ridge now and plenty on the forest roads. Bummer you had to head up here during a dry spell.

Went up there last night in the middle of the storm. Great time going past all the crazies slipping and sliding. Once I got up past 4000 feet, we were all alone.

Made it all the way up to the mountain store at the top. About 8" of snow there.
 
Stockwell45, my dad lives up near you. Ill have to give him a call tomorrow and see how he fares through the storm. Honestly i am jealous of the snow. This is the first winter in about 4 years that I haven't seen any, the south kinda sucks. Looks like a perfect chance for a t4r snow run.
 
We got exactly ZERO snow worth driving in this year. First time in my whole life that has happened.


Great pics Brian! The truck looks awesome. Why are you rocking General's up front and BFG's in the rear?
 
Nice pics Brian! BTW, I'm pretty sure I've got more snow in my garage than you have on the ground outside there.... ;)

Just messin with you a little.... I was pretty surprised to hear that you guys get snow on the West side.... but I guess if you get high enough in the mountains...your terrain is pretty much the same as our British Columbia?? They don't get much snow out West either...but in the mountains, you can get snow all year I believe!

Yeah about that .... I had a pair of BFGs go bad 2 years ago due to LBJ wear and that threw my tire buying cycles off slightly.

I replaced 2 tires with BFGs for $190 / tire last January and then in May I add the other 2 tires. I decided to try out the General Grabbers because they are a clone and only cost $145 / tire. So far I can't tell the difference but some people notice.

I wish, and oh I wish....that BFG would make the A/T in something other than E load range. That is the single reason I will never buy them.

Thinking about getting TW Warden's again...but in 265/75.

I don't know man, the whole E rating argument (while probably best on another thread) seems like much ado about nothing.

I love my BFGs, they are great in the rain, snow, mud ect and are quiet as well. Keep in mind I only have a ~ 31.5" tire. I have towed with them no problem. All the reviews I from other T4R members do not indicate any "load rating" issues so I conclude the worry is not based on valid arguments for this exact tire and truck.
