Is that a "new" festival? I don't think I've ever heard of it. I've been to the Kerrville Folk Festival several times over the years and always had a great time.
It's been around for 30 years, so longer than ACL, Bonaroo, and all of the other big fests.
Its my favorite for a couple of reasons:
- They have limited the growth, so there is not a lot of people walking over you to get in and out of stages
- Only two stages so its easy to set a schedule
- The venue is great, lots of trees etc. (campground has a creek if it gets hot)
- In the past, at the campground after the show there were acoustic performances (they called the one I frequented "camp goodtimes") It was a music focused place (they shush people because otherwise its impossible to hear)
- BYOB in campground
- Lots of really good music and really nice people.
I've never been to Kerville, but want to go. That is more in the summer and I am not a fan of sleeping hot, so I haven't made that a priority. I hear that the vibe there is really open and welcoming. Lots of folks have been camping together for years and years.
This will be my first time with the RTT, so hoping to find a good spot close to the action.
