can 06-09 lights be put on 04?

Hey,
I have a 2004 4Runner and I have a question about 2 things.
1) can the tail lights from a 2006-2009 4Runner fit on my 2004 4Runner? I like the LED tail lights.
2) can the headlights from a 2006-2009 4Runner fit on my 2004? I understand that they look different on the bottom but, is there a part that I can buy that fills in that opening on the bottom corner of the light?

You can install the tail lights (I've seen a few members here who did install the LED on their 03-05s) but the headlights aren't an exact fit.

Yes, I have both. It's a common swap

Tail lights are a direct swap with all the same bulbs.

If you buy '06 headlights, you'll need either an H11 HID kit (like most who do it) or an H11 socket and bulb for the low beam. If you want to use the integrated '06 blinker/DRL you'll need two wiring harness for the signal/parking light and tap that into your '03 signal (~$20/ea). You also need the two plastic filler panels that go below the lamp (~$30/ea). There will also be a small triangular gap at the corner of the lights, which can be fixed by modifying an '06 grille or ignoring it.

No! You can'ts put '06-09 lights on your '04! The vehicles are absolutely and completely incompatible in every way! You'll blow it up!!!

Nah, J/K When you do the tail light swap, purchase an Electronic Flasher to replace the stock one as it is designed to work with the extremely low resistance that LEDs provide.

That's only true if you switch the turn bulbs to LED. Only the tail/stop lamps are LED on the '06, the turn signal is still a halogen bulb.

true. but I've just started making plans of what i want to do with it and im on a budget. although you do make a good point.

If you're gonna buy LED turn signals, make sure you spend plenty and get good ones. I switched mine back to halogen because the LEDs just weren't bright enough during the daytime.

Thats true, i cant stand lights that you can bearly see.. i was behind a tahoe on the highway the other day and it had just led bulbs installed and it slammed on the brakes but i didnt notice it until i saw the rear end of it fly up. if it wasnt for that i would have hit it! haha well, looks like halogen turn signals for me!

Sorry I'm not sure I still have them, unfortunately imageshack went down and took tons of my photos with it.

The tail lights just look like they do on any '06-09, they don't fit any differently.

There are pictures elsewhere on here that show the small gap for the '06-09 lamps, otherwise they fit the same.
