can my 92 4runner standard tranny handle sbc 350?

ok i'm swapping to a small block 350, i want to do this the cheapest way possible, 92 4runner 22re with manual 5 speed, 4x4, Its got 30's right now with 2" of body lift and next year its getting 5-6"'s of suspesion lift and 33-35" tiers. It won't be abused to death but i want to small block 350 in my runner and was told by a couple people that it can bolt up to my stock 4runner tranny. Will this work? And if so how long lol? My original plan was to go with a th350 transmission and get an adapter plate for my toyota transfercase but it cost alot of $$$$$ but it would probably work better. And apart from that plate if i did went with a chevy transmision, Do i need a special shaft to work with the chevy tranny and toy tranfercase? And would i need a th350 off a 2wd or a 4wd, and if i am not mistaken some of them a short tale shaft and long tale shaft, witch one do i need? any help is greatly apreciated, this will probably be done this winter so its ready for my lift kit in spring thanks alot guys, any input is greatly apreciated.

Haven't seen many 350 swaps, but there's a few sites that may help (below). It might be a headache trying to bolt the 350 up to the toy tranny. Im not sure on pricing, but may be cheaper to find a turbo/supercharger IMO. Im new to toyotas but i've had several chevy's, if you don't do something right, you'll have major problems.

The tranny is the weakest link in the Toyota drive train.

Wether you use a 2WD or 4WD TH-350 depends on which AA kit, IIRC.

I have a 2WD TH-350 mated to a Buick 231 V6 in my 4WD Toy p/u, using a Downey/AA kit. It uses the kit's tailshaft to mate to the stock Toy t-case.

If you have an R150 series box then no probs but if it is the G52 series it wont last long at all.

Our GMH motors come with two bellhousing patterns, one of those is the turbo pattern.

A kit will be required and you must make sure you have an "R150" series gearbox, otherwise it will sh*t itself the first time you dump the clutch.

I had a MK3 Supra that I was planning on swapping an LS1 in..I'm still new to toyota trucks, but I know you can mate a SBC to an R154 thats in the supra. Not sure what it takes to put the R154 in a yota truck though.

up in my neck of the woods, everyone has a small block chev in their runner. because you have the 22re, you, like i, have the w56 tanny. it would not hold up to the power of small block. all you would see when you drained your tranny oil would be silvery mush. i am currently looking into a toyota 7mgte swap. i6, 24v, turbo, 3L, 240 break horses, and you can use your stock tranny, just use the supra bell housing.
