Can this be my tranny leak?

I noticed a drop of tranny fluid on the driveway the other day so I took a look and I think it's the lower tranny cooler hose connection.

Can I snip 3/4" of hose off the end and re-seat it without draining the fluid? Or will I get a gusher once I pull the hose off even if the vehicle is not running?

Or could it be something else?

Not a helpful post. It I would like to know as well. I think I may have the same issue with mine.

You'll get some drainage out for sure. I'd have several paper towels stuffed down there to try and catch it. Have you tried just tightening the clamp?

Thanks, I gave it a tightening up, but figured a clean cut wouldn't hurt if it wasn't too messy. Is the bottom typically the in or the out port to the cooler? I suppose I could pinch the hose to keep anything coming from that direction.

More fluid will come out of the cooler itself than the hose I would think. People argue in/out at the bottom/top all the time. Most say put the in at the bottom which is fine. LOL I think either way is fine actually. With around 30-40 psi pushing fluid into the cooler I think it will have no issues fully filling up.
