Carbon Fiber Vinyl

Has anyone used the different types of carbon fiber vinyl? Or has a good source for purchasing? Can you explain the difference (feel, look, work-ability, etc)?

On Amazon there are several different types: 1080 scotchprint, di-noc, and a few others.

My goal is to wrap some of the interior plastic and maybe even some of the reflector if I can manage to squeeze projectors into the holiday budget. I'd like to use a matte black i think. Any hints/tips/tricks will also be much appreciated. Thanks!:hatsoff:

a shop I used to work for has wrapped one of the local m5s into Dinoc one IIRC..
when looking at the hood, unless you know it is a wrap, you can't tell that it isn't a real CF. super nice looking. Alas, it is not saving any weight, and is not fire resistant

My recommendation is to go with di-noc. It is the nicest of the 3 imo. I, however, would not recommend wrapping much of the interior unless you want to spend an entire day trying to make it look perfect. Just ask harper7.


I definitely would not recommend it for the reflectors in the headlamp housings. WAAAAYYY too many curves to make it look good. Plus, it's not that easy to keep taking the headlights apart if you end up not liking the di-noc (calling BFLAN).

Thanks guys... I realize the vinyl is all for show but I guess I'm one of those nerds that think carbon fiber looks that cool. And I'd like aother reason to be tinkering with my truck.

Ducmonsta! :wow2: I don't know how I missed your thread... You have a flat out awesome vehicle built. The carbon fiber looks great over the chrome grille and accents. I may as well add that to my list of planned mods cause.. I like. Did u use a heat gun to set the vinyl adhesive? How does it hold upto the weather?

Been looking at picking some of the cf vinyl on amazon, but just spotted some on eBay as well. I generally think eBay is full of cheap knockoffs- Has anyone gone that route and is willing to say otherwise?
