It's your call on having to buy and install a rear locker. Not too sure if crawl control and all those other things matter to you as well as the interior. For me, the trail premium/trdpro black interior with red stitching made a difference.
It just like someone buying a 911 GT3 RS vs someone buying a base 911 carrera. The person with a base carrera could easily use the money saved to build something better than the gt3 rs but some don't want to go through that.

Updating with some photos from previous trips.
Went up during some pretty foggy conditions. Definitely made things interesting.
Definitely need some LED fogs like our buddy Richard (he should be on this forum somewhere!)

We knew a storm was coming in and decided to go play in the snow!
Here comes our buddy Mike.
... and there he goes.
... and same with our friend J hahah. Glad we had recovery gear and were able to put them to use. No complaints from using both Treds and Maxtrax.
Took a quick shot before walking back to help dig.
3 made it through. My cousin Ajay making his way back to help with some more digging.
All made it out just fine (minus 1 cracked windshield). Was fun utilizing recovery gear.
Here comes our buddy Mike.

Most recent trip was out to Lake Arrowhead.
This was our driveway. Due to the snowplows, the wall was about chest height entering the driveway. Had to shovel what we could and just drive over the snow.
Us guys woke up a little early the next morning to do a quick trail.
Gotta love that FJ62! Stock except for tires... for now. Big changes coming soon!
Our buddy Matt with his sick 3rd gen. Felt like I was in a rally car when he was driving through the mountain haha.
Time to plan another trip.
