CBI light mount install

So I bought a set of used CBI light mounts and an AOB switch from a fellow member a couple of weeks ago and since I was home watching a sick kid I decided to install them. I went with a wireless setup that I had on hand for now as I did not want to dive into the dash just yet to wire the switch. I know there have been several write ups on these installs posted before however I did not see where anyone handled the brackets hitting the plastic shroud like I had so I decided to post on it. What I did was heat the plastic with a heat gun then shut the hood and apply pressure to mold the plastic. Worked like a charm. Here are some pictures during the process.

I will go Back later to heat and sculpt it better for looks however I think it is a better option than trimming.

Looks great! The heat idea is a great alternative to trimming. I really want to get a set of these too. These mount on the hood side of the hinge I'm assuming? Do the lights clear with the hood open completely? Thanks in advance.

They mount with Light bracket, hinge then hood in that order. I removed the top bolt first and put the bracket on at an angle and snugged it down then removed the bottom bolt and pivoted the mount into place and tightened both bolts down and I had zero hood movement for adjustment. I did trim the bolts down slightly that came with my KC lights. They did not hit initially but I think they would have once I molded the plastic because it drops quite a bit. I also had the bracket that supports the light reversed for my Jeep application and I had to swap it back to get the downward angle I needed and the lights did not hit with it either way.

Yeah this is a known issue, somewhere there is another thread about this and Miguelon came up with this idea, I did it based on that. Great pictures though. It amazes me how people flip out over melting some plastic yet they happily bolt on lifts and tap into factory wires...
