CD Text with 2005 NAV

Does anyone elses NAV not work with any CD text on burned cd's? It works fine with original cd's with text (which are rare) but will not work with burned ones. The JBL 6 disc in my brother's Sequoia shows the text perfectly for all cd's.

Mine doesn't show text from burned CDs either.

mine does. i actually copied all my cd's onto cdr's just to add text to them. i'm suprised that it doesn't on yours..

.. what software do you use to burn? i use nero 6.

Nero 6 and Roxio. Maybe there is a setting in Nero that I'm not using right. All of my cd's show text on my Kenwood HU in my 96 though.

when the songs are lined up in Nero, i right click on each and select Properties and enter the Artist, Album and Song info before burning. I think the stock Nav will only display Album and Song info so I just enter the Artist and Album info both together in the Album section so they both display on the Nav screen.


i'm just waiting for someone to come out with a fully integrated solution for an ipod to the nav, meaning able to display song info on the nav screen from ipod, in addition to the steering wheel control functionality that some companies' products already have, then i will finally say goodbye to my 104 cd case that slides around in my truck! they already sell a remote display that connects to the output port of the ipod to display the song info so it can't be that tough to do, the function's already there! i just don't want to velcro a separate display to the dash, not a very clean solution..

Yeah I agree. I have a music keg in my 96 and I love it. I may eventually move it into the 05 but it will probably require a modulator of some sort.

OK somehow I got it to work today with a burned cd. I just burned it with nero using disk at once and it shows the text now. Awesome.
